Currently using Continental Sport Contact 2s which are shortly due to be replaced. (I've got them on the rears as well)
The place where I would get them done are charging £125 per tyre inc. tracking.
Got no issues at all with the choice of tyres on there, but i've not had any other brand experience on the coop.
So Just wanted the forum's advice on what other premium brands are available at similar price or even if there are any other brands that are better but a touch more expensive.

The guy at the Garage (independent Tyre place not the big name Kwik-Fits etc) did say they were an expensive tyre.
They've got good reviews, am tempted to stick with them but will have a look at your suggestions.
Is it worth ordering tyres on-line cheaper and taking it to them for fitting?

Another option is a Goodyear Eagle F1 (not asymetric) but V-grooved, I found them quiet and an excellent all rounder. I'm on Toyo T1Rs at the mo, but I'd say they were not as good in the damp/wet as the Goodyears, thank goodness it's dry at the moment

Duncan,
I had the conti sport contact 2 and moved to the Falken FK452.
From my point of view there is not much in them until you get to 70+mph at which point the Falkens are a little more noisy.
If you hammer up and down motorways I'd stick with the contis, if not then go for the Falkens.

2nd on the 452's, had Avon ZZ3's before and they were awful, Federal something or others were good as well.
But seeing as my local tyre guy does the Falkens for 75 quid fitted I'm happy to stick with them.

I'm going to try some Michelin Primacy on mine next time - I used their cold weather tyres last winter and the grip was un-ending.
FK-452's were a revelation after having budget tyres on but this was a whole new league.
I do suspect tyres like Mich, Yoko and Conti will out-class good value tyres like Falkens and Toyos.

Ive been using Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001's on the coop...excellent all-round wet and dry performance with very little road noise, even at high speeds...the only downside is the premium price, but i regard tyres as the most important piece of equipment on the car.
Im eagerly awaiting the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's to come out in coop sizing...if its an improvement on PS2's it should be a great tyre!

Tyres, probably next to what oil question, but I reckon its a fair comment to make on a high performance car, you can't exactly try out all the tyres that are recommended . It's worth reading up on some of the tyre sites how/what all about tyres. OK this may sound duh! but it does give you a better grasp on how tyres do their job All said & done it's a case of what suits your driving style A good performance tyre doesn't mean a good hard wearing tyre, so things can become expensive if you choose to have a heavy right foot. Al right I'm preaching to drivers who know this only too well, but it's good to brush up on your homework On my wee van I have Goodyear duragrips, & I cant recommend them enough, really grippy & very hard wearing, & bit noisy, but a small price to pay. I don't know how they would fair on the Coop if they did the right size.
I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

thanks for all the suggestions, I know that its a common asked question but hasn't been asked in a while and since my last 'search' there have been new tyres released onto the market. so, is it best to stick with one make on all 4 sets of tyres or can you mix'n'match, say, Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001 on the front and Continental Sport 2's on the back. I'm with CX105 on tyres, important so i'm not looking at budget/intermediate pricing. The continentals have lasted 5 years so far, tread is ok and cracking on the walls. I tend to do longer motorway cruises, drive fairly conservatively, although if the car is fully warmed up and i'm on a clear sliproad, i'll boot it

Got the Falkens on mine Duncan, and at £77 fitted they get a big from me! Mine are the new ZE912's rather than the 452s, and I do a fair amount of motorway driving, and other than being a bit nosier (at 80+) than continentals I've run on before the feeling of grip is as good! Think the ZE912's are more of an all-weather tyre, slightly harder wearing than the 452's although they have the same AA traction rating so would infer no loss of grip. Only criticism they sometimes get is about durability, but I don't tend to lite them up much and for motorway use they are holding up very well so far. My tuppence worth!
