Looked into it, thankful I have a Czech friend here with me right now, and she's looked on his website, Smurf 20vt Dials for sale. Follow styling and they can be ordered for 3500 Czech Koruna (approx £115) He's a member of the czech Coupe owners club, faily bona fide by looks of it. Got to be able to negotiate a group buy here? Got to be able to negotiate a group buy here? Come on then, get moving Need them now Trying, but looks like he only makes in km/h format right now. Even with a Czech person helping translate we can't even find a contact email!

I asked about changing the dial colour on here a few weeks back and got nothing but doom and gloom. These are exactly what I was thinking of. You'd have to get the colour behind the centre console matched up though... I'd be interested in a GB if anything like this came up

If only they didn't say SMURF in huge letters It just makes the lovely dials look very cheap and nasty. A coupe logo or just 'fiat coupe' would look 100% better.

Or heres the link to where Smurfs20vt got his from the shop website in poland via ebay,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Coupe-plasma-tacho-glow-gauges-plasma-dials-glow-/130393542227?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Autoteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item1e5c0f8e53
He does them to 300Kph so should be easily able to make them in 180Mph form,
Have sent an email asking for Mph in both 160 and 180 versions, also if possible for use with silver/white dails if he can do those aswell and have asked for discounts if a group buy can be arranged.
I will post again once I have recieved his email

Are those Smurf ones easy to see if you have no lights on? Are they needing to be connected to a permanent live feed? Does anyone know?

If you look on the site Patch they look to have connectors for the original loom.
On the web site they look very clear when not light,
I have sent asking about MPH and silver/white dials and if they connect to the loom as they apear to
Once I have his answer I will post the findings

I'm afraid the visual performance dials are not a patch on the first ones for me. I,ve seen these before on eBay, they're all right but not for me...I think they were called indiglow... No, they were called plasma right enough...

That Moman eBay page looks pretty comprehensive to me. Gives you a bit of confidence in the product. Optional clours would be great too, but as I said before, you'd have to match the console back light colour up somehow...

Well,
I have just recieved an email from the bloke who owns the ebay shop and here is what he had to say
Sorry for my delay answer, I had some days off.
If you’ll order at least 30 sets then of course we can make new design in mph, but we will have to receive advance payment of 500 PLN before we will start new project. Cost of single set with inverter will be 207 PLN. It could be done approximately within 1 or 2 months, because we are at the moment making projects for Nissan 300ZX, BMW E39, E46, Mercedes Vito.
Sounds good to me so I will start a group buy so can you post your interest of what you want if we can get enough interest

Hadn't seen this thread, liking it a lot. I'm in, will keep an eye on the GB Had been hoping there was a way to sort the fact that the background lighting on the standard dials always seems a bit offset, as agreed on here previously at some stage. One question, in the video posted on the GB, the guy fires up his Coupe and the CODE light stays on... (sharp eyes see, trained ninja) Also, are there any differences in the Plus and standard guages in terms of the headlight symbol etc. I seem to remember when I've looked before some of the symbols are slightly different. I know about the max speed reading and the oil pressure/voltmeter difference.

Some questions....I would like answering before I commit to deciding which set to put my name to.
What would the text colour be on the white dials when they are not illuminated?
Would it be just the numbers and scale on the white dials that illuminate as the black dials or would it be the whole dial?
Would a 180 dial still read accurately the same if fitted to a 160 gauge? is the extra 20mph just added at the end of the scale?
My left hand dash gauge is the oil temp/oil pressure type what do the 180s have?
Sorry for the long list but I suppose these are questions that other members might also want to know.

I would like to know these things too.
How easy are they to fit, Can I fit a 180mph dial to my car that currently has a 160mph dial. Can I get one with an oil temp dial instead of a battery meter.

From looking at the video, I was quite liking the forum members name (smurf20VT) across the rev counter dial. Johnnymarr, do you think it may be possible, given the clubs approval, to have the FCCUK logo put onto the dials? I had originally fancied having my forum name on them, however from a resale point of view, this would prove pointless. Who's going to want a car with someone else's name on it!

Ladies and Gents, To keep you in the loop with whats happening I have spoken to the Owner of Moman tuning with regards to the fitting concerns that some of you are asking about. I have been told that the needles are very easy to remove without damaging and they come with a full set of comprehensive instructions. They screw on to the oringinal dials using the original screws so can be removed when needed and clip in to the original loom. There are different variants to choose from ie.. volt and oil pressure or oil temp and oil pressure and the colour of the illumination can be chosen as well Blue, white, aqua marine etc.. Here is a link to the coupe dials in KPH so you can see how clear they are and how they will look when fitted in both daylight and night time and the variants they do. Obviously ours will be in Mph For example I am having in silver Model 3 = 180Mph Version 1 = Volts and oil pressure Type 1 = Red line starting at 7k revs Fiat Coupe Plasma Dials Please have a look at the link as there are some very good pictures showing the quality of the kit and workmanship. And also the options available I will post more info once I have spoken to him again but it is looking good so far, I have ordered a set in Kph as I am being posted to Germany soon so will have a better idea and first hand knowledge of the fitting in a few days. So will update then I don't think it will be allowed to have the fccuk logo without permisson as it is the clubs trademark?? Ian

I had been thinking the whole logo, including the coupe outline.
For that though, we would definately need the okay from the club. I seem to remember use of this was requested for the failed GB for embroidered t-shirts etc. last year, but for obvious reasons was declined.
I'm sure though that as this would end up being an integral part of the cars themselves, it might be given due consideration if there was enough demand and the GB goes ahead.

Trying to spot the difference between version 1 and 2. Pretty sure its the needle position, so I guess I'll just have a good look at mine to see where mine lies.
Is this difference likely to be age related?

The difference between Version 1 and 2 is that there is a 5mm gap between the markings of the oil pressure and the bottom of the oil temp needle.
If you have a gap you need version 2
If your markings on the oil pressure touch the needle of the oil temp then you need version 1

Do the lights in the dash need changing to make these dials and needles glow like they do in the videos?

Right gents I have again spoken to S.C Moman and they have confirmed how the silver dails will look. I have posted a link to a set for the VW Golf Mk3 and ours will look the exact same as Design 4 and 5. Please take a look. There is only red and Blue illumination available with the silver dials and as you can see the Red will match the O.E red illumination Perfectly so no need to change the remainder of the internal lighting. But also the Silver is a very good match to our Plus dials so wont look different to the clock so they should match and look O.E How the silver dials will look Please have a look and let me know what you think?? I actually like them, providing they are black faced in daylight... bit like why some people like coops in Black, Moon Grey, Energy Green, with A/C, without we are all different IMHO

In the UK it is a legal requirement for the speedo to be marked with both mph and kph. Thanks Barnacle, I did not know this Seems odd that its a legal requirement in the UK to have both but in europe they only have to have KPH. Well we will have to wait for Stef's answer on the KPH as if he can't this group buy will have to close. I ain't making a group buy where we are breaking the law. Fingers crossed Ian

Fingers crossed Ian It's an EU requirement that all EU cars are marked in kph. It's a UK requirement that all UK cars are marked in mph. All UK cars are by default EU, so... You get to learn this stuff if you're enough of a geek to build kit cars, and have to wade through the 'constructions and use regulations for vehicles on the Queen's Highway' stuff to get it through the SVA/SIV tests! Now the curious thing is that constructions and use violations are not tested for at MOT time, on the whole, which tests whether anything important is about to drop off, but can I believe (Stan will be able to confirm) be tested at a roadside inspection... they cover things like the height and colour and visibility angles of lights, seeing through windows and mirrors, which indicator lamps are required on the dash and so on. Annoyingly, I can't find an online version, so if you're interested you'll have to either go to a library or buy this: http://www.tsoshop.co.uk/bookstore.asp?F...m=SearchResults - there are a good couple of dozen amendments, too...

I got pulled over once for having my "fog lights on" I then informed the whitty police man that they were in fact my "side lights" however they are not in the bonnet like the head lights are. The police man told me not to argue with him and that it was against the law to drive with my fog lights on. I told him, they are my side lights. He said he wasn't stupid and i was to turn them off as he was about to write me a ticket. I told him to stand at the front of teh car and turned my fog lights on. the look on his face was "priceless" i know its a bit off topic, but all this talk about rules and regs and SVA reminded me of the above.

My imported skyline gtr only had 320kph clocks in it. I had it for 2 years never any problems, my brother was exactly the same with his subapoo.
