Yup, it's been 8 years to the day since I first bought my steel grey 1.8 16v coupe for the grand sum of 7000 euro (bargain price at the time). I've only had that for a year, spent 3k on fixing things and a partial repray and sold it on for 8k euro. I bought my current 20vt plus in september 2003 with just 63.000km on the clock (142.000 currently)

Can't believe I've been driving coupe's for 8 years now as daily drivers! It has certainly been interesting with a lot of love and hate for the coupe and loads of money spend. Would I do it all again if I knew the costs and frustration? Maybe, but I would have searched a bit longer for the perfect car.

The things that made it worthwile are this forum, the people I've met in de past years, the fantastic meets and events en generally the sunday drives. I'm still undecided wether I should keep it any longer, but it needs work (cambelt, service, some cosmetic work, wheel refurb) and I suppose if I'm paying for all that I might as well drive it a bit longer. Maybe complete 10 years of ownership? We'll see....
