Save your money. What is the point of an alarm other than to piss off your neighbours crazy

It would also tell me when someones stealing my car id rather be on the phone to the police when its just been stolen than first thing in the morning when its gone

plus who said its not alarmed already i would like remote start and a turbo timer although im not sure whether these would work with the key code thingy

yea ive read countless reviews how crap they are. they even bodged my toad alarm years ago on my pug and I had to do a complete rewire.

http://www.precisionalarms.co.uk/ look good, accessory add ons look reasonable too.

get the boot release along with the window closure.

Bouncy123 fitted mine couple of years back (Clifford Concept 650 MK2) and its been great ever since. I believe he did Blue20VT's as well with no issues.

He's located in Dartford though, so might be a bit too far?

I wouldnt touch him with a barge pole, totally [censored] up my clifford, charged me £500 and never would answer the phone again or come and fix it. When I took it to a professional they said it was the worst install they had ever seen, loose live wires, nothing screwed in place etc. etc. Avoid avoid avoid!

Ah blimey, that isn't good. I'm surprised as he knew what he was doing with it and its worked fine ever since (on mine). I poked my head under the dash, engine bay and looked at the boot contacts and all looks well secure and positioned. Infact he even travelled down and sorted out my Clifford alarm on my old Bravo which was playing up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending him - just merely saying I've not had reason to fault him. Clearly different experiences vary! smile

Fair enough, I just wouldnt want someone to go through what I did. The best test of someone is when something goes wrong and how they resolve it. This guy caused all the problems and left me high and dry.

Remote start would invalidate your insurance and the coupe does not need a turbo timer. Add to this that I have never in 6 years on this forum heard of a coupe having been stolen without it's own keys. The standard imobiliser and its link to the ecu is far better than any aftermarket offering. But each to their own, IMHO alarms are just a noise menace and are ignored. On the coupe they will only tell you if the car has been broken into after the event, which is too late. A sticker and flashing LED is just as sufficinet deterent. I'd rather send my money on the mechanical bits and servicing laugh

I had my M3 lifted with the alarms still blaring. luckily someone actually did call the police and with the tracker it was found half a mile away.

Well with proxy dual zone sensors it will chirp once to anyone hanging around the car to warn them off, after three chips it goes off, this is a feature that alot of people with top end motors like fitted, secondly even if you have a key immobiliser that won't stop your car being taken nor a alarm with multi point immobiliser, but if your keys are stolen then what? Well cliffords black jax comes into play, if you don't enter a pin at the start of the key in 30 seconds then sirens, if your in traffic and you get car jacked same thing, comes into play after 1 min then you have 30 seconds to enter then it cuts the engine

to be honest engine Start doesn't make your insurance void as you can't drive the car without the ignion on and steering lock off, even if you tried as soon as the eccelerator is pressed the engine cuts out, if it's in gear same thing it cuts out, the only thing with engine start is it won't be thatchem but to be honest no one cares anymore, if it's listed with a cat one immobiliser from factory then as long as it has a alarm of some form will be a bonus but being thatchem doesn't matter

I think the point Bockers was getting at is that for remote start on the coupe you need to have a key in the car to get around the immobiliser. Which by default voids your insurance if someone nicks it

Iv known porsches, cosworths, scoobys and evos all get stolen with top Clifford aventguard alarms fitted, most of these are done with tow trucks or trailors, you can never stop it happening, you can only make it more risky for them to try, but even trackers can be blocked using a all band gps/wifi/gsm blocker, you can buy them for £80 on the net, and currently there's nothing these tracker companies can do, you can scan for the location of the tracker or if your in the industry your know where they recomend fitting them, scorpion are currently contracted to all the vag, bently, Porsche, BMW, mercedies, and more I can't remember to supply with tracker solutions for factory fitting and I mean propper hi-tech in built ecu coded sync stuff, I think I'd i'm right there incharge of there cars security

anyway it's not going to stop anyone stealing the car and this will always be the case

No you don't leave a key, it's the transponder in the key that is used but that's also why you have a multi point immobiliser, in the Clifford avantguard alarms they use wireless fuel point immobilisers so it's placed anywhere in the loom and will cut the pump, this will also stop anyone trying to swap Clifford brains over in a bid to over ride the system as it's paired to that brain only

I understand what you're saying, but I still think if you mentioned it to the insurance, the fact you've bypassed a very good standard immobilisation system will cause issues.

My brother had it on his Bravo a few years back. He had a system fitted (can't remember the model now), which didn't lower his insurance any because the Fiat ecu immobiliser is very good.

Wow bit of a debate here..... Whoopsie lol

Well my main aim is I want some noise if someone tries to steal it and then the added bonus of the remote start and the window roll up and if i can get it the boot release too and the turbo timer if it doesn't need it then fair enough it'd just be peace of mind for me

So will the alarm Need to by-pass the factory immob for the remote start or not??

A few good points by everone who's commented and I understand where your all coming from but it is each to their own and I want it all lol

You will need to bypass the standard immobiliser for remote start.

yes your need to clone a key, very easy to have done by any car key cutter, then duck tape the transponder to the underneath of the steering calin.

I love my coupe but at present values to fit one of these systems would cost more than the car is worth crazy

This is not a forum inundated with "someone tried to steel my car" In fact far from it, more a case of I have the keys, includingt the red one but my car won't start rofl

I've got a Clifford 650 with Window Rolls.

The car was on the ramps recently and despite having the keys and the alarm fob, the mechanic kept setting the alarm off as he didn't turn the key within 30 secs of disarming -> hence, going back to an alarmed state. everytime he tried to get the car started, the alarm kept going off.

now that's security!

anyway, I digress. The reason I got a Clifford in there was because the installed Sigma didn't work properly and there are more Clifford dealers around where I live so it was a no-brainer. Plus, I've had Clifford alarm systems installed previously with no issues.

to date, I've had zero issues with the Clifford. I've even thinking of getting the automatic boot opener add-on to the key-fob as i'm super lazy smile
