I get the bus to work, it's not a pleasant experience.

a) park for free in the Marina - top floor of the multistorey facing you when you drive down the ramp, it's good for a mooch about there too.

b) walk to and along Madeira drive for the noody beach & carnival, food, pier is at the end.

c) get the Volks electric railway back from the pier to the Marina.

The car park in the marina is pretty much an NCP however.... its FREE

But we can all decide on the day its not so much the money thing its more the car park will be rammed.

Anyway are we all up for some driving along the coast/downs and settle somewhere for a pint and a meal?

To add to previous comments.
1) Multi-story at the marina is an idea, but they do race minimotos around there sometimes, or around Queens Park where it's also free, a lot prettier and a lot closer to the town/beach than the marina, but a bit of a steep walk back. Postcode is BN2 0GH for your satnavs(actually that's my postcode, but close enough).

2) the offer of a day's shopping in Brighton should be enough of an enticement for the other halfs, if your credit cards can take it....

3)I can supply directions so you all miss the inevitable weekend traffic jam coming in/out, unless you all get here before 10am when it really kicks in (it can take over an hour to do the last 2 miles).

4) a point often missed by non-residents is that because of the large male gay community, there's always a lot of single women here (seeing as there's 2 universities, Brighton and Sussex). Party ratios are always good.

5) Pikeys are not a problem, Whitehawk residents are (it's just by the marina)

Oh and BTW the noody beach is almost exclusively full of gay men! (don't worry, there's a bank between it and Madeira Drive, so you don't have to look).

Just don't go to the wrong one, Roedean Cafe is nearer to Brighton and also has a golf course.

Tip - watch for the Q-cars on the A23 and the camera on THIS bridge - on a sunday both are definites.
