Its the sat night special i believe aswell, i wont be there i'll be at the better drag strip (less chavs) Shakespeare county running the coupe and watching some seriously fast mini's at the british mini showdown, awesome day, been to every one in the last 12 years.

That makes me feel old.

to be honest nigel, even if i'm free for totb which i'm still not sure of, i'm not sure i can afford it. I've got holidays for a month in august. Its not the entry fee that worries me, i wanted to get some slicks and race fuel map to be competitive and my funds at the moment just aren't going to allow it.

No other coupes coming to this on the saturday?

I'm hoping to better my time on this visit and get towards the lower 12's. Only my second visit so still on a learning curve.

Not if it's VAG cars on the Sunday as there'll be loads of vags there on the Sat too.

I'd rather arrange an FCCUK RWYB Day at Pod smile

Even more reason to go, to show all the VAGs how its done. laugh

Don't think there will ever be another Santa Pod event that gets close to the Forza Italia for coupe attendance a few years back.

Interesting weekend.

Like you said it was too hot for drag racing bringing my terminals down. And I'm not sure how much effect it has on terminals and times, but there was a strong headwind.

Took out passenger and rear seats, door cards and boot carpets and also had some semi slick yokos.

Best time was 12.6@113mph.

I think I would fair much better with an Apexi boost controller to limit boost in the first two gears. I had a run with base boost by mistake and got a 1.9 sec 60ft time. My 12.6 was done with a 2.1 sec 60ft.

I then jinxed myself on the way home by saying the car had been so good since the rebuild having approx 50 drag runs and 3 track days. 5 miles from home and the gear stick goes further to the left than it should and now i can only select 1st and 2nd. Need to investigate but this may be the end of my coupe days, keep your eyes out in the parts for sale section.

Your box went bang...

Oh dear...

I hope you fix it instead of breaking another high powered coupe...

12.6 is good going Mark, you beat your old time so well done.

The gear box sounds like a selector issue, something that needed sorting anyway with the hard to find 3rd gear.

It didn't go bang, I was doing about 15 mph changing down into second for a roundabout and the gear stick just went further to the left. I was driving very slow.

I thought the same thing Leighton, it needs looking at but I was way too tired last night.

I would never break the car completely, but when I move on (which may be very soon) I will be putting the car back to standard to make a more reasonable amount.

My old Coupé did this a day or so after I bought it, turned out only to be a broken plastic clip - cost of that part was less than a quid! Hope yours is the same issue, very easy fix.

If yours is a 6 speed mark it will be the lug snapped of the selector unit that goes into the box.
Held on with 3 X 13 bolts ontop of the box,.
Very common
Easy enough to replace.
