Okay, I can happily report that fixed it and the car is now flying as it should. It's a little scary at first, but it only took a good half hour blast for me to get reasonably used to the power. Oh dear...
thats great news, delighted for you mate! Now check all fluid levels, tyre pressures etc. fit a boost guage anyway, and give it a full service and try and get it plugged in for diagnostics. Happy and safe motoring
Sent it in to my new mech today, and got my first major Coupe bill (first of many I'm sure!).
Full service, full inspection, coolant flush, all fluids topped up, steering ball joint things replaced, that dodgy hose replaced with a silicone number, cleaned up ICV/MAF/EBV/throttle, allsorts tightened and checked etc etc etc
Damage was £185, which is a HUGE amount here for a "routine service"! My budget for this initial "ownership surprise" service was £200, so could've been worse.
