My Coupe is a rich man's Fiat. Well at least I used to be before the bills came rolling in.

bigc you are correct. I'm sorry to have hijacked this topic for a while, pictures will be taken in a near future. I agree with the people that say that "the Coupé is what it is" , a beautiful car.

Yes it's a 1.8, i forgot there's a 2.0 16V too. You have the last 16v, Gregor; I have the first!

You have the last 16v, Gregor; I have the first! Do you think the last Coupe being a 16v is supposed to represent Fiat's Coupe journey as having come full circle?

They ran the 1.8 from 95 on so no real full circles and not 'just the Barchetta engine'. In most countries the 1.8 was the most popular model, starting at around £13.000 at the time. In my documentation I have that the 'Special Edition' or 'Sportline' in some countries came in ALL colours (have a picture of a moon grey one: http://www.fiatcoupe.net/uploads/dc_models/18-16v-sl.jpg), + the 'Azzura Astrale' which was specific for the model). Also I noted that the SE came with the LE bodykit as standard, but then I see yours doesn't have one and the official Fiat launch pictures also don't have it. Hmmm... strange.

I wonder why they never released the 1.8 in the UK? I can't answer that but with Alfa 145/6, they did the same thing, not selling the 1.3 and 1.4 models in the UK. I wonder if the jacked up UK prices meant that the more basic models wouldn't stand comparison with their UK equivalents?

are you kidding? the roof line is one of the best attributes the coupe has!!
you would never get that line with a soft top folding frame or what ever you call it.

IMHO our car is a FIAT COUPE, not a poor or rich man's anything else. It stands up on its own as the most powerful car ever produced by Fiat, with unusual and beautiful styling that I appreciate more every time I hand-wash it. Anyone who compares to another car or modifies it to look like another car is just missing the point. I've owned a few cars that can be thought of as unusual over the years and I've hated most of the replicas that have been made with some of them.

Why has the topic title changed? Because it was misleading and after the first page nobody was reading the thread.

Very true of course, I bet 99% of people on here would totally agree with you, but if someone said to you "those Fiat Coupe's, bit of a baby Ferrari aint they?" what would your reaction be?
