Hi everyone,

I just wanted to come on & say a very big thank you to my fantastic local Fiat main dealer; - SGM Fiat in Bridge Road, Sarisbury Green, just outside Fareham, in Hampshire.

Now, I know that a main dealer is not always the first place people think of taking their car when they have a problem. I know, because I have read a fair bit of negative stuff about main dealers on previous (not Fiat) forums I have been involved in. But the guys at SGM really are exceptional!

I had been having major problems with another garage, which I had taken my car to originally, for an engine rebuild. Plenty of things had gone wrong, believe me, you don’t want to know, - best assigned to the annals of history! rolleyes Anyway, the upshot was that the car wouldn’t start.

Now, bearing in mind I had been without my beloved coupe for over 4 months by now, I was starting to go out of my mind! grr Anyway, after another garage had failed to diagnose the problem too, it eventually ended up in the hands of SGM Fiat.
Result? – fixed in a couple of days! Just shows what can be done when someone actually knows what they’re doing! smile

So, I’d like to say a big thank you to the guys at SGM; - Daniel, in the service department, and Dean in the workshop. Dean is, in fact, a former 20v Turbo Plus owner himself; & what he doesn’t know about them, - frankly, isn’t worth knowing!

They’re keen to look after any other Fiat Coupes in the area, so if you live in the south of Hampshire, they’re well worth a visit!

Gary.

Mods – any chance they could be added to the list of recommended garages please?

P.S. Knackered camshaft sensor, if anyone’s wondering what the problem actually was. In fact, I diagnosed the problem using this very forum – but garage wouldn’t listen rolleyes

I live in Portsmouth and thought the only dealer near me was Perrys!

My local garage (where I have had work done on the coop) orders parts from Fiat Middleton in Bognor Regis due to the poor service from Perrys.

Good to hear a Fiat dealership that actually knows about these cars. I pulled into Perrys to pick up a dealer only part (shipped from Middleton garage to Portsmouth!) and the guy said he liked the coupe but tried to sell me of the fast Fiat 500 Abarths, as much as like the 500 Abarth, I did have to point out the coop was a lot quicker laugh

I believe that SGM is part of Middletons.

Good to hear positive stuff about them, Mrs Wal bought a slave cylinder in there (due to neglecting my car while I'm away) this week and said they were very helpful.

Pleased you're back on the road Gary, your car always looks mint when I see it about Fareham cool

If all else fails read the instructions

I haven't seen my car much either lately Ryan, it's been stuck in the garage since April frown - only got it back a few weeks ago!

As Ian says, there are a few of us in the South Hants area. I've been to a handful of meets a while back now, but they tended to be outside of Hampshire.
