Folks,
I've bought the Clarion head unit removal clips.
Still can't see where they are supposed to go to take the head unit out.
Can anyone help please?

They go down each side of the stereo mate, a knife usually does the job nicely.

Tried that.
One cut finger and two bent removal keys later, the thing still won't budge.
Seems to be trying to take half of the centre console with it.
Shoudl the whole metal cradle come out? or just the head unit within the cradle.
I just knew this was gonna be trouble!

The stereo should leave its cage behind. I have had a few cars where the stereo just will not come out, and its then been a case of removing the console.

Hi, Im trying to do the same thing. As my stereo appears to be one of the jammed ones.. I searched and searched and found this informative, helpful, post with pictures and everything: http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/showflat.php?...true#Post118330Sounds like it'll be a pain, but the stereo has decided to stop working, and i hate driving without it.. I expect it's just a loose speaker cable or something at the back, as it turns on and everything.. btw, decided to give up with the changer for now, and just put my Pioneer Headunit from my last car in. Sounds like I'll need some time and sware words for this task!

btw, got to work early and used the time to remove the centre console.
Mine was easy ! As it had been done before, and someone has clearly lost the proper screws etc as: 1) There was no screws in the ash tray part (there still isn't but if someone's got some spare!!)
2) The Allen Bolt refered to in the guide, on mine was a standard screw (and fortunately, the only screwdriver I had in the car fit it OK
3) Only problem was getting the wires out of the back of the Stereo, blimey it was jammed in their good and proper, broke one of the plastic clips trying to get it out which didnt help, my fingers still sore from the task now
But...at least the old stereo is OUT, and it should be easy to put my Pioneer IN (tho it won't work with the disk changer, but nevermind, reckon I'll get a cheapo Pioneer changer of eBay, once the bank balance recovers from having the cambelt changed @ 450 quid plus VAT!!)
