I thought the brakes were making a funny noise on the way back from Norfolk...

They sounded like metal to metal when I finally pulled onto my drive which was odd as I'd looked at the pads/discs a couple of days earlier and knew they were all good. it was dark and snowing so I left it for the night.

I checked again the following morning an the NSF disc had developed a deep score about 2-3mm across and the same deep just about a cm above the hub shocked

ordered from EBAY, the new discs & pads arrived this am....this is a Mintex branded kit which are STD solid vented discs. Before anyone scoffs, 90% of my driving is on the motorway and I tend to cruise rather than race, so I reckon they'll be ok for my needs.....

...and If I'm wrong, it's only cost a £100 so no major loss.

Off to the garage to fit...I'll let you know how I get on smile

Whilst I on EBAY, I bought a new battery for the coupe....I'd already fitted a new battery last month which was a STD Bosch which I've transferred to the Porsche.....I managed to pick up a Bosch silver with 5 years warranty for £65.....last time I bought one from halfords it was over a £100 so an absolute bargain smile

Hmm, mine were also making a similar noise after my last track day, but there's still life in the pads.

Can't see it for snow right now, something to add to the new year checklist rolleyes

It's the grove cut into the disc that caught my attention...that definitely wasn't there when I last checked!

Stone was long gone ...looks like the po fitted new pads to used discs crazy

All back together now and the brakes are great...well they were for the first 10 miles and then the dreaded screeching brakes returned grr
