I still have a sore neck and a large bump, but im fine.Having a look with JBT earlier and it seems the slam panel/bonnet locater catch was not in the correct place, hence why this happened...i had just changed into 4th after 3rd gear 7k...when it flew up.Hopefully the roof can be sorted if not i will swap the running gear onto my black one.Sorry to hold people up on the A6.A least it wasnt just me with problems that day.lol

Good luck mate - thank heaven you weren't hurt and managed not to stack the car after you lost visibility. Hope it all goes well, and that you have stopped shaking....!

Hi Jonny

Sorry to see you Sprinty that way, glad your otherwise generally ok. Hope you get the Sprinty back to health, you sure have a Coupe with a story to tell mate.

Wasn't that long ago I was bombing down the A38 and noticed the bonnet moving up and down a bit, pulled over when I could and put it down properly, guess I was lucky.

Sorry I missed the meet all.

Well, the morning after the night before and here's the damage to johnnys car.
luckily hes alot more chirpy today and the lump on his head is shrinking.

Unfortunately its kinked the roof just above the rear 1/4 windows.
Also the front of the roof is noticeably down and the doors aren't shutting as they should.
So hes coming over to tomorrow to swap over the bonnet and the front panels.

Looking further into this it appears the car has previously suffered a frontal impact and the slam panel is noticeably out of alignment which is obviously why the bonnet isn't shutting correctly.
SO its all going to be replaced to avoid any future issues.

Great determination for sticking with the car pal.
See you bright and early tomorrow.

Repairing it?It was the creases by the rear windows that i thought might be the crucial bit. Also if it is being sorted i have a sunroof you can have?

Good to see you on here Jonny, but absolutely gutted for you about the car frown

I'm glad you're ok though smile

I was the woman in the Sprinty, also with black wheels, parked to the left of you at Donington.

Me and the other Sprinty were right at the back of the pack when your bonnet flew up and when we all pulled over.

After watching Porkypaul for several minutes, directing the traffic to the other lanes, I feared for his safety and after seeing some of the idiotic actions of some drivers, when I got out to try and help, I decided it was best to move along and get out of the way, before another accident happened frown

I can understand why police tell people to get as far away as possible shocked

Many thanks to Paul for directing the traffic out of the way. He says he does it all the time, but that is one scary job shocked

Well done too Johnny, for managing to keep the car under control while it all happened.

Hope to see you at another meet soon cool
