Did he mention the "wheels coming off" situations i've had when rallying in the forrest??? Just a thought... A large pothole or dip could be enough to shock the bolts/ hub.

60-70 mph through a forrest loosing a wheel is also "A-hole like a rabbits nose" kinda scary lol

He did mention it .I can imagine that trees at 60/70 wouldnt look quite as huggable.

Sorry to hear about that, horrible moment but good you came to a safe stop. Hate to think of what could happen!
Just before Xmas a bolt snapped on me when taking off the wheel, I had to drill it out. Luckily there was a spare rolling around in the boot.
Yesterday, same wheel (front drivers side) another snapped as I was putting the wheel on without any real force which was worrying. I managed to get this out with a stud extracter. Replaced it with one from a set of security bolts I had to get.
I have just ordered a full new set and will use the new security ones too. And no motorway driving until I get them on.
