Ive ordered a set from brake-lines.co.uk (front and backs)
Has anyone used these before?

I know there were some issues with the MK1 Goodridge braided brake lines but from reading, especially Nigels posts it appears this was no longer an issue once the MK3 ones came out.

I would be interested to hear feedback as to those who use the HEL ones...

Many Thanks,

Mario

I also have the HEL braided brake lines. No issues whatever in 10000 miles- just fit and forget.

have you noticed any difference (improved) in braking?

Cheers for the reassurance!

Mario

In fairness,i had new fluid and pagid pads...i can stomp on them red hot without fade or any concern so they seem to hold up well when blasting around a track...gota be better than whats on there anyway and shouldnt have to worry abou rotting pipes again

Ive recently refurbished my front and rear brakes inc new seals and guides. I will be running dot 5.1 and yellow stuff pads all round. Looking forward to seeing the results!

I've also been thinking of getting a set of these... missed the GB though.

Mario which set did you order - 20VT or the 20VT Plus ones?

I didn't think there was any difference? Seems a good price at 50 sheets

they are a slightly different part number.
I went for standard 20vt to be honest though i cant see there being a difference. Its a different part number but im sure the product is the same. The LEs are older than the Plus's hence why i went for standard 20vt

Mine should arrive tomorrow! Its been over a week now frown

Cheers for that Mario

I didn't think there would be any difference but as you say the LE was earlier so probably best to go for that set, just in case there is a slight difference.

Hope you get yours soon :-)

like coupedummy mine were fitted along with new discs/pads/fluid etc and have performed exceptionally well - although JBT commented sunday whilst deconstructng my car that the n/s hose had melted, although obviously it has a metal core. so just keep an eye out for it.....

I used one of the old hose grommets in the recess where the old hose clipped to the strut and passed the new hose through that. A cable tie and previous metal clip keeps it in place. Didn't like the Hel lines freedom to wander without it.

They maybe a good kit, but dealing with them had been a pita.

We had organised a group buy over here. Some had received theirs but two of us did not. Ben gave us 2 tracking numbers which did not correspond to our addresses.

Emailed him several times without response.
Very frustrating.

I'm trying to get a handle on the different types of front lines, between Coupe models and years as well (hope it's just between models!).

It looks like there's:

435mm most common, for 16v, 20v, 16vT like this:

277mm for the 20vT, like this:

Maybe also a 412mm one for the 1.8 but I imagine that's the "common" one again.

Does anyone have any info on this?
