John, you won't really want to return to the coupe now you have got this 911 would you ?
All the time and effort getting the coupe to run properly, endless sweat and tears etc.

Sean

Enjoying Coop ownership, second time round . Also enjoying RWD action in a thundering V8 E90 M3.

very nice looking 997! Go easy on the RR in the beginning, they do behave very differently to the FF Coupe on the limit.

I'm still trying to find somewhere scenic around here to take pictures! I drove 60 miles to Galveston yesterday and all I saw were oil refineries!

I intend on attending some DE events to get a better feel for how she handles. It's nice having instant power and not having to hang onto the steering wheel. I think the Coupe was probably faster in a straight line in gear but the flat 6 does sound lovely from 5000 rpm upwards.

Some interior pictures for you and one of the 305mm rear tyres! Smells lovely with the leather dashboard, doors, seats and centre console.

I still love my Coupe. I enjoyed working on it, it wasn't just a car it was my hobby.

The Coupe is old though and the handling is a decade behind the Porsche.

305mm N series tyre, heehee.......wait until replacement time, even just the thought of getting quotation HURT!

By the way, in my case the center worn out much faster than the edge, so don't trust the side wear indicator, check the rubber center for signs of wear. It almost cost me a BIG one during a spirited drive.

Yes, Porsche approved N rated Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.

The rears are $598 each from tirerack.com.

I've heard the rears last about 10,000 miles and the fronts about double that.

I know I didn't buy it for fuel economy but the best I've got out of her so far is 14mpg. Most of the time it's 10 - 12 mpg. I fill up the 17 gallon tank and it then informs me my new range is typically between 185 and 220 miles!

Not such an expensive problem in the US though smile

You must be quoting US gallon, right? Otherwise it sounds excessive.

10,000 mile sounds about right. My rear set S-03 N series lasted around 25,000km and the center pattern has almost worn out, while the outer edge was still looking okay, I didn't realise that and it caught me with my pants down! The tyre shop told me it is a common issue for Porsche.

those tire give good grip but dont last long even on a 1.9 diesel without driving sporty..
