Hello,
I currently use EBC yellostuff, which are great. I have never had any fade, despite lots of trackdays and quite a hard braking style.
However, I am finding that I'm going through a set of pads every 3 or 4 trackdays, and that is with virtually no road miles.
I am not bothered about road performance so can anyone recommend me a pad that will last, not fade and be good on track. I'm thinking some kind of endurance pad.
Regards,
Matt

I'm running XP8's found them very good but the brake dust is bloomin lethal for your wheels. I run them on the road and at Spa and no problems at all, seem to be lasting pretty well too.
I've also been recommended Project Mu (I think that's the correct name) which are supposed to be better than the carbotech pads.

Matt - Pagid Yellows are NOT the same as EBC Yellows the Pagids are a genuine endurance pad - I get around 12,000 miles from a pair. The first set I had were on test, with an instruction to try to kill them. At a Bedford trackday, I purposely set out to destroy them. After a very hard day, my calipers were a bright gold colour and my discs were completely knackered. When the pads were inspected, there was a little bit of crumbling on the trailing edge (the hot edge) but they had stood up very well. According to CBP, to get crumbling of the material, I would have been generating temperatures of well over 750 degrees - my discs would certainly have been glowing Despite the slight crumbling, I refitted the pads and went on to run them for another 10,000 road miles To give you an indication of their durability, the Pagid Yellow is used by the Aston Martin race team at LeMans - they don't change pads at all during the entire race.

I have just spoken to Ian at Carbotech and the XP8's for the 20vt are 135+vat + postage. I will see if he can move on price if a few are interested ?

I quite like the look of the XP10 or XP12's I'd be interested to hear from someone running these, XP8's are nowhere near the performance of Pagid Yellows.

They're the best I've had so far when it comes to track use, and I've done some trackdays now. In fact it's hard to imagine Pagid Blue's being that much better.. I certainly haven't got them to fade even once.

There is always kind of compromise between track and road - no universal pad - it will behave better either on track or road - i'm also stick with Yellow stuff EBC.....it's close to so called "compromise point" between track and road - i'm using yellow ebc on my track Alfa as well, with same result.....discs also counts for wear too.....

Well, i had a little chat with Carbotech and received the following email; Hi Matthew, Sure no problems, we can offer significant upgrades to the EBC yellowstuff with our XP8 material both in terms of bite, stopping power, temp capability and wear rates, XP10 is another large upgrade again with even more initial bite and temp capability, but if your finding the yellowstuff works ok then XP8 will be a nice strong upgrade for you and offer better wear rates also, how much better is hard to say as every driver, car and braking style is different but would expect a significant increase, although to be fair 4 trackdays to a set of ebc pads is practically unheard of!! so your not doing bad really for what they cost....downside to our pads is they are a lot more costly than the EBC pads but those that switch to ours very rarely go back as the find the extra performance and lifespan far outweigh the extra costs. Pricing on both the XP8 and XP10 below. Fiat Coupe 20vt Front - Carbotech Pad Code: CT592 CT592-XP8 @ £135+vat & delivery CT592-XP10 @ £145+vat & delivery Uk delivery @ £10+vat for most areas.
I think i am going to try the XP10's. I hear what people are saying about the Pagid's, but i like to be different!
