the money is the real problem in portugual and the guy's just think for a project like this if they have just forged engine and big turbo it will run great and reable... if you start one project like this you have to buy a lot off componets like fulling( pump, injectors, FPR, swril pot etc) cooling (radiator, FMIC, oil cooler etc)pipings (vaccum pipes fmic pipes oil pipe etc) the most important item is the eletronic because if you had a bad map all the engine will sofer and bad... this is a snow ball you cant put a big big turbo and them run on std fuel system... cheers for all
carlos não leves a mal mas á muita imformação que faz falta em portugal... não tenho nada contra ti e tens um projecto sem duvida um nivel muito acima do pretender no meu ver claro desejo-te a melhor sorte do mundo... mas já agora e sabes muitos no forum tentaram e partiram devido ao que mencionei e muitos ainda vão partir e é assim que se aprende abraço if you are who i think you are, i must say speak for yourself, you where the one to do things that way, big turbo, used forged engine, and here we go... results speak for themselves.. Money is everyones problem, with unlimited resources even my mother could get someone to build a fast car for her... Carlos is learning slowly but he will get there, and his general idea in creating this topic is that, trying to gather as much information and opinions as possible, and i'm sorry to say, but I don't think you are an example of someone that can teach him, once again i say, results speak for themselves, i have never had an engine failure in one of my projects and the reason for that is that i take one step at a time, upgrading every part to match the performance of the car... Finally i just want to say that is funny how my name always comes to the conversation, why do you guys always feel the need to compare everything someone does in Portugal to my project? Carlos has a different idea of what he wants from his car compared to what i want and I respect that, he wants to make a lot of power, i prefer a more driveable car, a car that i can take to track days, drag races but also one that I can drive on sundays, each to their own... I have always helped Carlos in his Quest, and once again he asked for my help to build a fueling system to match the power he wants, i've learned a lot with my car build, with the help of a lot of people in this forum, wich i can only say thanks, specially flea, and i dont mind to share with anyone what i've learned during the last couple of years...

thanks mate, everything is true what you said... Carlos has a different idea of what he wants from his car compared to what i want and I respect that, he wants to make a lot of power! yes I want to do something different, and for this I need all information possible, and I know that Portugal will not get anything about this project... I have always helped Carlos in his Quest, and once again he asked for my help to build a fueling system to match the power he wants Once again, it's true what you said, and just want to thank all the help you gave me... thanks ..chers for All

the pumps in the gsracing link i know nothing of though i suspect it may be a little more than the one i meant which is less than £140 deliverd i suspect it was less than that but i can't remember exactly so i have estimated high..anyway the main thing about the one i am using is its exactly the same size as the original and just fits straight in the original swirl pot so its simple ,cheap and can be done by you rather than having to pay

i think i heard his cat getting sucked in the turbo as well
well done mate it looks great i wish i could have afforded to replace all my under bonnet bits and make it look as new as yours does under there..
anyway you seem to have a good lay out with plenty of room
with the manifold design and where they put the wastegate pipe, along with the shear size of my turbo i am a lot more cramped and but for barbz fabrication work i could never have fitted mine in like you have with space for everything..i have had to remove my aircon rad for now until i can source another fan which will give me some space back..the slimline one i bought originally could not move enough air so had to move everything forward and squeeze originals back in
anyway i am looking forward to seeing what yours can do and good luck with it..
i have done 800+ miles in mine now and have just changed the oil for mobil one as it is going to have the ecu wired in today/tomorrow then mapping thursday and friday.. after that i will dump the mobil 1 and use motul from then on.. i have had a little play with it as i have a gtec 2 hi fuelling in for now so have let revs build off gentle throttle and once i get to 3500rpm and am off closed loop i have given it half throttle a few times and see .8 bar (actuater pressure) virtually instantly ..i cant really go over 4500 or so as i am sure with the standard injectors i am sailing close to the wind anyway but it's certainly picked up well in 4th and 5th considering its unmapped and underfuelled..it will be interesting to compare our set ups

I have std chip for now,I want put gtec 2,but I don"t have for now,and I have std injectors.. :D,and the car runing and work very very well... and I"m realy realy happy..thanks for your help and barbz... cheers my friend... Hi Guys.. 10 seconds of my car to walk to the turbo GT35 at 5000rpm in 2º and 3º gear and have standard chip and injectors,I only did up to now 50% throttle and 0.5bar of boost...because he still has a few kilometers... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGu_6sAj7fg&feature=player_embeddedcheers Carlos

Looks great, just a couple of small questions.
What intercooler is that? Looks very well made.
What is the swirl type pot and two pipes that are where the old air box normally is on the front left hand side?
Seriously looking good though. Well done.

hi carlos ..sounds and looks good ....i am still working on mine as i have a slight restriction on the hot side ..what internal diameter was your manifold? i would think you will gain some on spool up when its mapped and in it's final configuration though you have gone big on the turbo! barbz has done an excellent job on mine considering i have a 600bhp+ turbo i am on full boost by 3200 revs! i wouldn't have believed it possible before i got the car back anyway good luck with the rest though..if you have not encountered any problems yet you have been very lucky already!

Hi mate, until now has not had any problems...works very well and has torque in 1300miles mor or less ;-)! I think he has 34mm internals, and also think it's very good for a rapidly rising rotation due to be 34mm,and as has long tubes, are all equal to 38cm,I think that is optimal for high speed!I try to join the business with pleasure kakakaka...at now I have full boost 1.0bar pressure at 4900rpm!but is standard chip and standard ecu! next month I will buy everything standalone ecu injectors fuel pump and other things..then I think I'll do full boost 4300rpm...
cheers Carlos
