My personal belief is in 3-6 years time only the ones which have been maintained will still be on the road.

They're changing hands for £1k now but they're the ones that require work, if the next owners don't know, or don't care then I can't see them lasting many more years. Cars which need £450 on belts or a clutch aren't going to stay on the roads for long if the owners aren't interested in maintaining them. They'll likely go bang then end up scrapped, or broken for parts then scrapped.

It will be the great Coupe cull of 2014-2017. Who knows, after that we may even see appreiciation up to the dizzying heights of £2k for a 20vt.

Plenty of good Coupes on sale at Pistonheads between the 3-4k bracket so good condition FSH cars still seem to be holding their value.

To be honest not particularly worried about depreciation or what the car is worth. I paid £5,300 for mine 5 years ago at 27k mileage. It's now done 82k without missing a beat and it's easily comparable to the condition of those 3-4k Coupes on Pistonheads.

So approx £2,000 depreciation in 5 years - not really worth worrying about. If you bought any new car it would loose that amount the moment you drove it out of the showroom.
