I suppose this all started when I bought, my 1998 red 20VT in 2008, it was originally bought with the view of it being a weekend and trackday car. When I picked it up I discovered that it was too clean to ever consider bringing it on track, I suppose you could say, Love at first sight! crazy

Anyhoo, a mate of mine was leaving Ireland and heading home to the UK and offered me his for peanuts, I took up the offer and so the project started...

First job, Engine out:

Then get it home and strip it, many winter evenings were spent tearing chunks off it! laugh

At this point in time I spotted a caged Coupe on ebay, yellow and already a nice bit of work done, I reckoned that the worst that come of it was that I would have a lot of spares! so I put the trailer on the Jeep and drove from Mullingar (central Ireland) to Doncaster to pick her up

We did a few trackdays, and before long the headgasket went grr

anyhoo, it was stripped down and got a new OMP cage, Gaz Gold Sussy,

and a new 7kg fiberglass bonnet. Meanwhile the engine had the head polished and ported, a GT28RS with 3" down pipe and 3" decat pipe straight out to the rear end, and EVO 4 FMIC.

(I took delivery of a Gotech Pro-X Stand alone ECU this morning, we're hoping to get 300bhp out of it when we get it mapped properly)

I did a round of the ITCC (Irish Touring Car Championship) at the end of last year and unfortunately a tyre disintegrating at 100mph gave me a DNF

So, New wheels new Slicks, a front splitter and some hasty repairs to my bonnet later and I was doing a few trackdays

Its in the workshop again at the moment, getting seam welded, ECU fitted, mapped and painted, I'm going for a mad color scheme I think, something like this:

and then a few track days and the first round or the ITCC on April 10th.

Apologies if I'm duplicating info thats in my thread in the trackdays section

Liam

And a pic of the adjustable top mounts, they're for a Subaru Impreza, but we made them fit!

The eagle eyed among you will have noticed that the green paintwork has disappeared, it was terrible, did nothing for the car at all.
