My Brother and his girlfriend went off the road Monday night becasue of diesel and damp road conditions, no real speed involved but once he's straightened it up they were on the grass and both passengers until it stopped.
Somehow (and I'm still amazed how) they missed two big trees at the road side and ended up 15m down a steep bank, they were brought to a sudden stop by another tree but by then things were going a little slower.

Airbags deployed and they both walked away with minor bumps and bruises which is the main thing.

I'm sure Adam will update this thread with the photos he's got of the crash scene so more to follow.

Yep, a Sprint Blue VIS which must be one of the rarest colours to get in this model.

Yes the rumors are true ive killed the misses coupe in a mad coupe VS Trees battle which ended in an epic fail , but at least we both walked away unharmed apart from still trying to work out how the back end broke away at lowish speed.

I had been enjoying the welsh roads since sunday morning but when the incident happened it was a leisurely drive to newtown for some well deserved dinner.

when the police, RAC and joe looked at the road it still wasnt clear how the back end broke loose but the next morning i went back up there and found what looks to be an old diesel spill on the road.

After going through this im pleased when i look at the damage to think that we are lucky to be alive let alone walking and it shows how strong the coupe is compared to if i was in the misses old Peugeot 206. The only injuries sustained are minor whiplash and tiny cut on small finger (bleed like [cloud9]) for Charlotte and a battered and bruised arm for me because i was trying to cover Charlotte when i realized we were now both passengers.

Many thanks goes to Joe and jake for rushing out to us and the use of His beloved Vincy until i see him saturday i cant thank you enough.

And another thing the Misses is now on the hunt for another project must be a VIS

this didnt make a different for the 2 full days of going around the mountain roads previous. i checked the tires for wear when i got back midday to make sure they weren't wearing uneven

it is well and truly dead (chassis is twisted) unfortunately but i had to argue with the insurance to keep it away from them so i could get my LE head lights back and the other nice little bits before it is broken.

Phew all round! Joe's had his work cut out coop-attending this week

well i was hoping joe could of pulled the coupe out with his recovery truck but after looking at it again there was no way it would of happened.

it took 2 recovery wagons and one of them had a crane to finally get it off of the hill side

Back end of my last coupe went doing about 45 on the M6.

It was pooring down at the time & I hit a mini stream flowing across all 3 lanes, coming down from the embankment and the back end went crazy. I crapped myself & hit the brakes - not the best idea I've ever had! Car proceeded to do a 180 into the central barrier & cut out, facing the wrong way. Started her up & flung her around & into hard shoulder before anything passed. Didn't realise until I got out that one of the rear wheels was still planted into the barrier!

I had just been over to NI to buy the car too.. did a total of 130 miles in the bugger. I felt SO bad that I never told the previous owner - who is a forum member & a great bloke too... sorry mate if you read this! & to rub salt in he'd just changed the wheel bearing on that very wheel too!

Driving on a wet motorway now is a nightmare for me. I always felt safe as houses in a coupe in the wet as they stick like glue normally. Always been a confident/sesible driver but still to this day kick myself for not keeping control.

Motorway agency did my for damaging barrier too even though it was a seriouly minor dent which is still there to this day!

Glad nobody was hurt!

Sad to see another coop down but thats by the by, it did its job and kept them safe!

At lease the plus grille looks unmarked, should be able to recoup most of the cost of a new car with that.

As much as we all love these cars, the pictures bring home the fact that they are just lumps of metal at the end of the day, albeit quite tough old birds by the looks of things and the important thing is that you are both OK and not seriously hurt.

Don't know why, but the above photo has a strange, but really sad look to it

It's as if the car has felt it's done it's job, relaxed, taken it's last breath against the tree and died (which it has in a way, but the photo shows it).

Again, probably just me looking at things in the strange way I do It really does have sad look and feel to that particular photo though - the others just look like normal crash photos.
