Hoping to get my new stereo install fitted this weeekend; Dynamat "experiment" on front doors. Genesis P2 under passenger seat. Powerbass Components in doors and dash. Alpine H/U with hidden iPod. I'm OK with all of the above but radio reception has always been a weak spot no matter which H/U I use. I know there's been a lot of debate on this subject over the years but I'm seriously thinking (for some time) about an external aerial Can the original system be improved upon or is there any other solution besides going external? If not, has anyone fitted an external aerial? If so, which one and any piccies? If there isn't a suitable solution, I'm considering doing a minimalist system with an iPod as the Source, running through an AudioControl Line Driver to boost the voltage to the P2 then onto the comps.

I think the cabling and connectors could be changed maybe to improve quality???
I personally stuck some tin foil in mine and it's made a difference from when I got it.

The DAB aerial fits on the inside of the windscreen, but I don't know of anyone having done this with a Coupe. I'd be very interested to know what the reception is like, as there will be a lot of electrical interference, etc..

Can a DAB aerial splitter be used? Does a coupe come with amplified aerials as standard?

Very similar to this or this. Couple of hours to fit, I removed the rear door card and c pillar trim, ran a power lead from near head unit (think I spliced into the cigarette lighter cable) along the car and up into the head lining. I connected the cable for the aerial onto the original cable where the junction box is inside the c-pillar. ( I think) easy subtle mod that makes a huge difference. Paul

Looks interesting,
as regards the power supply, could you not just use the existing supply to the standard amplifier behind the c-pillar??
would save running the new cable all the way to the head unit.....
