Aftermarket oil pressure gauge? #125471

Okay, the standard oil pressure gauge shows max 3bar pressure, and the majority of the time (if your Coupe is healthy), the needles sticks at 3bar, except if you've been stuck in traffic for a long time and then it may drop just slightly.

My question: Is it possible to fit a separate oil pressure gauge, (in tandem with the original one), so that (a) You can check your oil pressure when driving normally, and (b) Check the accuracy of the standard Fiat gauge.

Also, would there be benefit from this? Perhaps early signs of a problem if the expected oil pressure showed fluctuations whilst driving, or an expected pressure value when driving?

You just need a T piece where the original sender sits in the block. Get a mechanical Bourdon tube gauge rather than an electronic one as there is less to go wrong.

Thanks for the reply.

Would you say there was much benefit (as above) to fitting an aftermarket gauge, though?

Just a thought... Maybe is it just possible to wire another gauge on the standard pressure sender. I think the 3 bar reading limitation is just on the gauge side.
