Got back 6.30 this evening. All I can say is wow what an experience, what a mad, crazy, fantastic 2 days at Spa racetrack. I really don't know where to start as I still haven't assimilated it all yet. So for nowI'll just say thanks to all of those who organise this event every year;
especially
Pete for organising my participation at short notice. Marcouzze for getting me club rate at Hotel de la Source again at short notice. (sorry I didn't get to meet you). Mayzon for letting letting me follow him down to Spa from Calais. All those who gave me advice and info on Forum the last few weeks. All those people who helped me and my Son Lewis at the track .
if you own a Fiat Coupe you owe it to yourself and your car , to take it to Spa. A dream come true for me and my boy who is an F1 expert.
I hada disappointing nervous first session and problem with car due to me probably overdriving. I had a much better and infinitely mor enjoyable second session after I started at back and kept away from all the powerfull cars, and-just drove the track instead of getting involved in trying to race or getting out of way. Starting at the back again I was completely at home with track by the third session and managed a best of 3.33. Lewis - who was so happy that he got to be on the pit wall- was timing me and giving me info about safety cars etc via his walkie talkie :cool.
Lewis finally got to come out onthe 11 to 12 Parade Lap on Sunday and was so ecstatic At finally getting to go round the famous Spa. I thought the parade lap (when you are mixed with all the different makes) was going to be a slow jolly round the track . no way! it was fantastic. And just as fast as the coupe sessions for me. I started at back again and did loads of hugely enjoyable overtaking and got myself right behind the pace car. Driving alongside and against all those other makes of car, made me realise even more what a fantastic Car the Coupe is. incredible
Why the hell didn't I buy one years ago when there was a ferry from here to Zeebrugge.
Thank you Fiat Coupe Club Ha, that's some crit! Can't imagine how much fun your lad had too, good for you for putting in all that effort! Makes me want to do something similar with mine [help I have 3] before I'ze a too ancient and before I get told off yet again for not going [you know who you are ]

if you own a Fiat Coupe you owe it to yourself and your car , to take it to Spa ^^^ Great quote from a great post Marko, glad you enjoyed it Back 2 hours ago, now unpacked and off to bed. Sooo much to cover, so many funny moments and plenty of video content to go through. More to follow in due course this week whilst we all digest events! Good to see all the familiar faces (even Senny Dave), and some new ones. The ol' 20vt covered 1,100 miles and over 3 hours tracktime faultlessly. Maybe a broken spring from hurdling the rumble strips at the top of Eau Rouge, but SO worth it. Equally enjoyable and what makes the whole 4 nights we make of this, was the company over these days, from all at Ashford on Thursday and mostly those at the campsite and boy were there some very tasty meals out this year Only right to thank and congratulate those responsible for organising the clubs presence at this truly epic event, namely Pete, to whom a MASSIVE thank you is due, please take a good Sir! Same time next week?

Been home a couple of hours myself. A very Hard few goodbyes said leaving the ferry at Dover to the people that make my holiday ever year, love you guys.
Huge thanks to Reuben for letting me have 2 laps behind the wheel of his, bringing me there and taking me home. A lot of jaw ache from laughing so hard all weekend. Thanks to PeteP for all the hours making this possible, and to my dad for just being there and organising digs/pampering me.
Next year really can't come soon enough, I should be in a cheap Spa dedicated turbo.

I was the unfortunate/fortunate/brave/foolhardy ( delete as appropriate :-)) passenger in Barbz car. As everybody has said- what a truly unforgettable experience ! Many thanks to the organising team and of course Barbz for inviting me.
Although I have owned my coop since 2002 and been a forum member from then I have not accumulated many posts and not been to many meets or events. So it was great just to some meet fellow owners for the first time - you know who you are.
There were so much exoctic machinery out there but the car that impressed me most coming out of the corner heading towards "eu rouge" was JBT's beast. It was immense and in my eyes carried the fastest speed. The sound it made was second to none also, Barbz - you were a close 2nd :-)
The tussle between us and the French boys were extremely exciting and at times frightening. I held on so tight to the door handle I grazed my knuckles !. Barbz applied a lot of pressure to them but lost out in the end because of their better knowledge of the track I reckon. Full respect to them though.
This experience has kick started my enthusiasm to coop ownership once again and I will attend one or two track events this year. When the time comes I will need some advice from the track veterans on how best to prep up my car.
I have a few photos and a couple of vids to post up once I learnt how to do it. So for now - cheers guys !
Ps. - have I mentioned our drive from Calais to Spa :-) That was an event all by itself !
Enjoying Coop ownership, second time round . Also enjoying RWD action in a thundering V8 E90 M3.

Sounds like you had an epic weekend chaps, and I'm a bit gutted that I didn't pull my finger out to try and come. Maybe next year. It won't be in a coupe though

I had a pleasure to participate with Pete in the organization for the second time.
Unfortunately I forgot the BBQ with you and I apologize.
I am back home too, this year I have not managed to drive a lap.
so I trained my poor english language, I spoke with a lot of people, but unfortunately I said goodbye to anyone, you were almost all gone.
Glad to know that everyone has arrived safely at home with or without coupé.
No highlights on track for me, and it is the end of life as a coupe for me.
it will go on spare parts.
We will meet again with another Italian car I hope.

I suggest everyone forward this video to 3:00 and see what marco says. There were so much exoctic machinery out there but the car that impressed me most coming out of the corner heading towards "eu rouge" was JBT's beast. It was immense and in my eyes carried the fastest speed. The sound it made was second to none also, Barbz - you were a close 2nd :-) Barbz in your face.Even your passenger said im quicker What a fantastic weekend, apart from the cars that had there problems. Must say a huge thank you too JBT for the work on the car, it was the best it's ever been. Great too see everyone old and new faces.
Roll on next year. Thanks Paul, Was nice seeing that all 7 of the cars i have built recently drove there and back reliably without an issue including the car we built and mapped in 3 weeks prior to spa that ran near on 500bhp. My car was immense, and i have never been so frightened/scared delighted. Paul worked out that i beat over one million pounds worth of supercar and race car per lap. All in a Fiat.

JBT overtaking that Ferrari 360CS was impressive but too overtake the Ferrari powered race car was something else. You have one hell of a car fella.

What a fantastic weekend, even without doing any track driving myself It was great to meet up with the regulars again and meet some new people. The organisation was top notch Thanks for the passenger rides. The word 'monster' is often overused when it comes to describing cars, but JBT's really is. The way it worked with slicks was Committed driving as usual, but smooth as well If you get bored of that car, I'll take it off your hands. Glad to see that most cars/people made it unscathed. To those that didn't, come back stronger next time At the start of the weekend, my chances of having a coupe again was around 20%, it might be around 30% now I will be back to Spa

Sounds like a great weekend again! Kinda sad that I missed it, but it's just not the same without a coupe and some tracktime.
Although obviously I do miss the hotel bar sessions with all coupe nutters as well, might be enough for me to join in again next year :-)

From now on you will be known to me as jonny cheesesweats!
I don't know what that reference relates to, but it instantly reminds me of when the mighty doogong took her Matalan trainers off on the journey back - the smell was horrendous

hi had a brill time at spa, was nice to see barbz again after all these years, from the tipo days, happy to say mine made it there and around the track and back home with out any major probs apart from my worped front discs from saturdays session. Marco all that hard work paid off, and at least we got one project there.
Have to say what a bunch of friendly and helpfull lot you are,and hope to see you all again.
