You seem to have forgotten the mudguards... They're on now. Will post pics tomorrow - so reminds me of a 20's/30's coachbuilt luxury saloons with the guards on

Use fine sand and hairspray on your stick to stop it drooping.

It's like driving the Indy after having been driving a Landie Never a truer word spoken Finally had time to give the bike a clean and a good check over. The roads are ice free now but damp. Everything is good, fits fine but is it a different experience. Without going over the top, it has to be 100% more efficient in terms of effort. A quick 5 miles round the block didn't even raise my heart rate. It picks up speed down slight hills very quickly I presume it was scary due to the 700c X 20 Vittoria Pro Team Kevlars? Should I be going 23 or 25? I'm barely 12 stone, but the roads aren't great round by me.

If the roads are crap, a wider tyre will make you slightly less susceptible to pinch flats. It will also make for a smoother ride. Road bikes are just brilliant (especially when fitted with disc brakes )

I don't think the weather helped and 50psi... Got a proper pump now so that's sorted.
I just don't have any reference as to how they handle and they're much more 'nervous' than a mountain bike.

It'll take a little bit of getting used to but once you're comfortable and confident you'll learn to throw it about. Road bikes are light and responsive

There's advice floating around that anymore than 120psi is unneccessary, however I like the hum of 160psi in Conti Podiums. A good track pump is a must. 23's will be fine for everyday use with 20's a good leap for fast work on decent roads.

Yes I can see why I didn't have any confidence now I was deceived by how little resistance there was even at that pressure. I think I may do some commuting at this rate 160psi

They'll actually tolerate 200psi, but that's beyond my track pump. BTW, I time trial. Makes sense. Are they tubs then?
