He seems an ok bloke to me? Car nut, married Billy Piper (despite being ginger), pretty funny, and has come across as being a normal bloke when interviewed e.g when on Top Gear. Don't even mind him on Radio 2 although he comes across as being a bit too sugar coated. Nice car, guessing he bought it due to history rather than colour
Corvette C6 (manual of course)

can think of many better things to spend £5million on than a car that would get murdered by a modern hot hatch in all but the posing stakes

can think of many better things to spend £5million on than a car that would get murdered by a modern hot hatch in all but the posing stakes hardly think anyone's going to buy one for the performance!

Can't rally see how it's an investment. He's paid over the odds for it and if the classic car markets tanks like it did in the last recession....
I remember him buying Piper an F360 as her first car. He's a serious car nut. He used to live in the same appartment block as my sister years ago. Remember seeing his 355.
Lucky guy. Never found him funny but then you don't need talent to get rich - just look at Simon Cowell!

Can't rally see how it's an investment. I doubt whether the investment potential crossed his mind for even a nanosecond. He wanted it. He had the money. He bought it. End of. The only difference between him and any of us is the scale of magnitude.

Recession makes little difference to really rich people - I don't think Mittal and Abramovich are concerned about the credit crunch or their property going down in value...Any super rare car will go for big money IMO

Just reviving this - Seems Chris is a real PetrolHead after all..... That joins his recent Elan +2 and a Vauxhall Manta! Nice to see its not just the super/hypercars he is in to.

He did but still has a few....Think he bought a none white California as well. I did hear he was really good with the Coburn Ferrari at Brooklands letting people sit in it etc. Not just fenced off from everyone...

Just reviving this - Seems Chris is a real PetrolHead after all..... I think you're right. He had a Dino way back in the '90s before the rest of the world decided what a wonderful cla$$ic they are. I bet there are also a load of closet petrolheads too. I mean if I was rich and famous it is hard to imagine not choosing a Maserati Quattroporte as a daily runner but most want the world to think they prefer the anonymity of a Germanobox.
