Found these on fleabay. Is there anywhere cheaper/better to buy FK's?

Don't buy FK, seriously, DO NOT!

A standard coupe suspension is better and will be quicker point to point. They look very nice but are hugely under damped and over sprung, you will bounce all over the road.

Save your pennies and buy some Eibach springs on standard dampers, a much much better solution.

I've got apex springs on standard dampers at the moment and i'm not happy with the ride. I've got a set of bravo top mounts to go with the fk's which should help with bouncing. Are they really that bad?

I've got one Coupe with Apex springs, the ride is terrible, I've also got one with FK coilovers with Bravo top mounts This setup in my opinion better than standard and much better than the Apex sprung car. If I was buying new coilovers however I would go for either D2 or BC.

D2 and BC are a bit out of my price range. Do the 100nm springs help at all?

Jame5, you seem to have a poor taste in suspension components sir! smile

Apex possibly being the worst of the springs available and FK the same for the coilovers!

Honestly, a new set of standard dampers and some Eibach springs will be a far superior handling car and for the same price as the FKs.

Trust me, I've tried most suspension for the coupe, including the Bravo top mounted FKs. That version made the ride less harsh but doesn't eliminate the bouncing on uneven roads.

Listen to uncle Jimbo James, The top mount wont stop the bouncing, it will only make the ride a bit better, the bouncing is down to the under damped damper trying to control a heavy spring.

100nm is 570lb which is a lot of spring for a poor damper to control.

I would say sell the apex and bravo top mounts, get some eibach 's or joes springs and save up for some osrav.

People's "taste" is sometimes dictated by price. As a former FK user now with Billies & Eibachs, I thought the FK+bravo top mount was OK even with standard FK spring, but not if wound down too low (still too crashy) or too high (too bouncy, but different spring might help). I was disappointed that the FK fronts didn't last very long, but I was also expecting to be more satisfied with the B&E setup, maybe I just need to fit the rears where I still have the FK's fitted.

I have Eibach + Billies and the ride is okay. Now the Billies are starting to get tired so new dampers are needed.

But no FK's for me. Yes you will save some money but I have read so many bad things about them that I will not buy them. I am thinking of buying a set of BC's or new Bilstein dampers.

Ok, i'm more or less put off getting FKs. Is there any point keeping my bravo top mounts? If they're superior to the coupe ones can i use them with billies?

Nope, unfortunately they only work with coilovers, besides, you don't need them with Billies as the standard top mount is far superior to the Bravo version.
The Bravo top mount is only any use in the coilover fitting because it has a spherical bearing in the top of it.

It all depends on what you are looking for, the lowered look, a car that will be quick from A to B on the road or a car for the track? There's a big difference between them all, not only in cost but how the coupe drives.

For a combination of lowering and a nice handling car on the road, I don't think you can go wrong with the Billy/Eibach or Billy/FCSS Springs.

I would recommend FK coilovers BUT only the stainless steel version with the adjustable Koni inserts (Silverline X I think they call them).

Had them on two of my Alfas and couldn't really complain.
