Not atypical with women. I think it has more to do with the correlation between filling a car up and paying for the fuel which causes this condition wink

Selfish bastards guzzling up all the fuel.

Sure blame politicians, blame the government/infrastructure..

Step back and look at yourselves, an inherent flaw in humanity - greed.

If you want to make someone accountable for this 'pseudo crisis' then point the finger of blame at yourselves.

We are to blame.

I tried to panic buy fuel today and discovered that it's quite tricky to fill the car up whilst running around the station waving your hands in the air shouting 'we're doomed, we're doomed there'll be no more petrol'. I don't know how anyone manages it.

Luckily the petrol station was devoid of other cars so nobody saw my pointless outburst.

wink

The sheep are having a direct impact on everyone though.

Fuel seems mysteriously to have gone up by between 5 and 10 pence in the last week.

Nice work if you can get it.

Average price around here for 95 Ron was about £1.36 a litre, which most supermarkets have stayed at throughout the 'panic', but smaller outlets have gone up to around £1.42, with one deciding to charge £149.9 grr

Last week a local BP garage was charging £1.37, it is now £1.45 p/l for petroleum.

One thing worries me in particular; how will people react when fuel is no longer available?

Well it took me five goes at 6.30 this morning before a trip to Joe's to find anyone with petrol - Sainsbury's eventually obliged.

Couldn't get *any* on Thursday or Friday night, in an attempt to set myself up for the (270 mile) trip.

Think I might fill again tonight.

Those free-marketeers among us will claim this is the only way to control consumer behaviour.

Bollox.

Our local Shell petrol station simply imposed a £20 limit for everyone.

During the fuel blockades a petrol station in the Bracknell area raised the cost of their fuel to £10 a litre. Their argument was that those who really needed it woud pay, those that didn't wouldn't, thereby ensuring stocks were available for the former. So it was done for the benefit of the consumer, not for profiteering purposes rolleyes .

Sadly the station went out of business shortly after the blockades finished laugh

So, after all that, no need to panic. Thank God that's been settled.

Oh, wait a minute...

Stations struggling to restock? - continuing shortages?

Don't panic!!

Well done BBC - chumps.

Alfa_Male - the subtle (or less subtle) shapes of various rants can sometimes draw comparisons - for humour's sake, generally - with some of the "characters" from the forum's past. Although, of course, all comparisons are odious. I'm sure you know how it goes. Just don't mention third gear acceleration figures...!

When I'm in third gear I get from 60-120 (kms) in about an hour. Injector 3 is knackered.

Who am I now? tongue

Only kidding!

Grr bloody chumps!

No Tesco momentum at the local. Somehow i doubt there has been a rush of Flea mapped Coupes requiring petrol in the last few days.

So some idiots (who have no doubt been whinging about the price of petrol) have panic bought 99 RON petrol when they could have just waited a few days rolleyes

(plenty of free pumps at the station today, no queue or anything)

All the stations around my area are calm and as normal, there are still 2 stations with absolutely nothing since Saturday and I CANNOT get V-Power anywhere! My light has been on since Saturday and I just can't use the car at the minute until someone has V-Power for sale!

My local Shell station closed down for a refurb in early March. It re-opened last Friday morning, just as I was driving past on the way to work. By the time I drove past again on my way home from work, all pumps apart from V-Power unleaded were turned off. On Saturday, I decided to fill up the tank with V-Power (about £50 worth). By this morning, the V-Power pumps were also turned off, meaning they have no fuel at all.

Madness...

My local tesco is closed. BP is closed. Jet garage seems to be open randomly and the Shell garage only has 95 RON - and the maximum you can buy from them is £15 rolleyes

I've got a long journey planned this weekend and only half a tank, therefore need to fill up before I go. Gonna have to find somewhere else or visit the same station more than once. This is ridiculous.

I filled up the Peugeot 306 with 38 litres of regular unleaded this morning no problem. I think what's needed is a rule that people have to fill up their tank completely, but if they take less than say 30 litres, they have to put it all back again using straws provided by the filling station, that might stop those who don't really need fuel from fuelling (!) the panic buying. Or just a quick check before joing the queue to see if their fuel light is on and/or the gauge less than 1/8th full, if not, send them on their way again...

Hmm, i'm not sure Dave.

I have a half full tank at the moment, which I know will last me exactly a week.

However i'm going to be checking the petrol station tonight to see if there is any 99 RON fuel there yet. Simply because the unions have to give 7 days notice of a strike, and I KNOW that the moment they do, everyone will panic again.

7 days from today, i'll be out of petrol and there wont be a station in the country with 99 in it!.

Now, i'm not going to be driving round every tesco's in Bristol looking for petrol or anything, i'm just gonna check the two places that i will pass today, but usually i wouldnt even bother.
