That was a good race. Kimi proved very clearly that you can only push the tyres so far, too

That ranks up there as one of the best races I've seen for a few years! Excellent result, some fantastic racing and the closing stages were great!

Well chuffed for Nico, excellent race for him thumb

A cracking Race, and a very good result for Williams with Senna and Maldonado in the points.
I wonder if Mercedes will now dominate?

Apparently, F1 is just a procession...

Real shame about that wheel problem for Jenson though; there might have been some serious contention for first.

Best GP for a long time. Some great action there. Shame about the pit stop errors for Button and Schey. I thought Schuey was very magnanimous about it though. And Seb showed a great attitude in defeat too, seems to have enjoyed himself out there cool

Ended up as a great race, after the first half hour, which was a bit plodding.

BUT, how much better would it all be if they managed to arrange it so there was MORE than a 4' wide racing line, and no ability to run anywhere else? Even in the DRS zone, going offline seems to negate most of the benefit.

Yup - what a brilliant race! No idea where to look in the last 15 laps. Thought Schumi was spot-on with his comment too. Wonder what Merc have done to get their tyres working so much better

Really entertaining race. So much wheel-to-wheel action yet no safety cars. Massive credit to all the drivers. As mentioned, a superb result for Mercedes and Williams. The interesting thing is that we don't yet have any idea if Merc will go on to dominate or if the different tracks/weather conditions will throw up a range of successes. Three races, three different teams winning and the Championship leader hasn't won any of them - not too prcessional yet!

Agree. Although it will be interesting to see how they handle the hotter temps. Last year Red Bull struggled in China and Hamilton looked strong on the cooler track and we know how the rest of the season panned out!

I don't dislike Vettel, I think he wears his heart on his sleeve, but his finger-wagging clearly gets on people's nerves. My thought is that this is where Webber shows his strength (he must be strong having endured 2 seasons of pain as Vettel's "sidekick") and bullies young Sebastian over the whole season. If Webber can assert himself, I think Vettel will struggle to get his mojo back.

According to some of the reports I've read, Merc overworked their tyres in Melbourne and couldn't even switch them on in Malaysia. Weather conditions notwithstanding, it seems that they adjusted everything to "middle" and it all worked. In the conditions in Shanghai at least...!

I think the fact the three stoppers couldn't get past the two stoppers is what made the race. Hamilton was held up by Perez and almost got caught out by a much slower Alonso. Vettel then couldn't pass Kimi and that caused a huge train, second to tenth to all be bunched up behind him.

As soon as Kimi faltered the flood gates opened and the fun began, all too late to effect Rosberg though. I'm sure he would have been ripe for picking if those three stoppers had been able to get clear air to catch him.

All in all a good strategy call from Mercedes and a great win smile

This story made me smile. I bet that realy improved morale on his side of the garage. If Jensen beats Lewis at the end of the season I can see Lewis moving on. He still seems very lack lustre so far this year, but he is top of the championship crazy

Studying the films seems a sensible step to take, particulalrly as he accepted he could improve his positioning. Pity Button didn't make his guys watch it..

As for lacklustre? He said he is going for consistency and point scoring. It seems to be working. And once he fires up.. cool

There are ways of interpreting how Hamilton and his team watched that footage - depending on the agenda of the writer of the story. It's more newsworthy to portray it as a "fuming" Hamilton confronting his mechanics with their mistakes and rubbing their noses in the dirt under the heel of his diamond-encrusted racing boots.
Or, he may have suggested viewing it as a way they might all gain. Could he perhaps approach the pitbox differently, etc.
Either way, I would hope they are all experienced enough at their jobs to move on positively.
For what it's worth (very little!)I think Hamilton genuinely looked more relaxed this weekend and smiled more than at previous races. Perhaps because he knew he was facing a grid penalty and therefore third was a decent result. I'm not in the least surprised that he was a bit downcast after failing to convert either of his pole positions. Interesting how people view both Hamilton and Button's demeanour as being miserable at various times!
