I have the OMP pads. The OMPs will stop you well even when they are stone cold, something which is very important for me as I live in a city.

I have the OMP pads. The OMPs will stop you well even when they are stone cold, something which is very important for me as I live in a city. Seems like a good alternative, checking around it seems to be a slight upgrade over the OEMs performance wise. How is the dusting compared with the OEMs?

i second the omp pads, i have them on and they perform absolutely fine even from cold which i as drive the car gently is far more important to me than having to get heat in to a pad to get it to work properly
brake dust is about normal, you won't be having to clean your alloys all the time with them

big difference in price between the 2, having gone from pagid blue to omp i can honestly say if you don't drive your car particularly hard, save your money and just get the omp, for everyday driving i found very little difference between the 2, just my personal experiance though

Mekonomen pads are basically std pads, they only sell established well known brands. (You don't trust ME on pads?  ) For example, any filters you buy are Mahle, bearings are SKF etc. etc. Whatever you want they can mostly get it, although not as cheap as they used to be. I think maybe you mistook MECA for Mekonomen..?

I think maybe you mistook MECA for Mekonomen..? I don't think Mekonomen is the best pick out there for parts, pricewise they are about 50% more than the best UK suppliers. Shipping to Sweden can be an issue, but if you get enough parts... My next purchase will probably be with misterauto.se. You should give it a try as well. Swedish part prices are wacko, the dealer for the OMP brakes in Sweden sell the front pads for £70!

EBC pads are a bit squeeky, at least the more race oriented onces. And the durability/longivety seems to be an issue...
Pagid´s are good, but as some of you point out, a bit more pricey. I think OMPs will be good for me, even if the Swedish price is a bit hefty...

Won't be getting the brake pads from there, probably Dalhems. Mister Auto will my pick for the cam belt change, it all adds up if you want to change all tensioners, belts + the water pumps. They have great prices and pretty much any part you´d need.

EBC Yellow Discussion started.....  I've never recommended EBC Yellowstuff's, quite the opposite.. They're tried and tested by now by me and many others. They are crap for Coupe trackdays, but Mekonomen pads for normal daily driving are ok, you who's swedish should know.. They're not directly Biltema. Anyway, I bought a set in september and they were quite cheap, a few hundreds (kr!). They're on the car right now as they don't sqeek at all - which the Carbotech's do. But in general, Rask, yes Mekonomen used to be cheaper.. when places like Micro was around. The good thing is youre always sure to get quality stuff. Pagid's seem popular as well, surely a good choice too!

Those are standard Pagid pads, made by Pagid. They are good quality but not uprated.

Im currently running Yellow Stuff
I found them to perform superb at SPA and Donnington combined with good discs and decent brake fluid.
However on the road, especially on short journeys they are not good at all!

I think I've also made my feelings on these excuse for pads known many times. Mario - your car was on 3 wheels at Donny so that probably aided your braking, and at Spa spent more time on the rostrum with the models than being driven on track

My OMPs were a big improvement over the mintex pads I had on previously.....for the 10 miles I managed before bumping into the back of a focus at a roundabout  Not the longest road test in history. I should mention that it was nothing to do with the brakes - purely driver error.

Sorry to hear that Mike. Will be trying the OMP pads. When I get them, seems the Parcelforce Euro 48 is not a 48h service... Heard some people refering more to it as more of a 48 day service...
