i have set the front to the softest setting they will do (slightly better over uneven ground), and gonna try to raise the front by 5mm tomorrow, then set the rear dampers to their softest settings too. got it booked in for wheel alignment, rebalance and camber. want to try the std toe in with neg 1 deg on the camber and see how i go with the tyres.

thanks pistole, will need some, haha.. pretty costly tbh, as setting up the camber and tracking plus 4 wheel balance 110 pounds

ajg, have the KonigSport setup (with uprated ARBs front and back however) and I don't think the ride is too bad now that I have had it for a while. Maybe it has become run in now or something . I have the original supplied 80nm springs on the front too as I didn't want to change to the 100nm springs.

IMHO if you soften the dampers completely you will be making any bouncing worse, the damper is there to control the spring, the softer the dampening force the more likely it is for the spring to react causing the bouncy feeling (as spring rate over powers the damping rate).

If I remember correctly my fronts are set at 3/4 (of full travel) and the rears about 2/3 (of full travel), my camber is set at zero (no neg camber). It's still has a "sport" (hard-ish) feel but it passed the "wife-and-kids-on-a-long-journey" test .

However I'm sure that the uprated ARBs have helped too.

I may need to clarify that I have independent compression
and rebound adjustments on my c/overs.

slackening of the rebound settings allowed a semblance of
high-speed stability over uneven roads to return and also
allows for traction to return on bad surfaces.

you really need to have patience with the system.

cheers.

with your setup pistole i would be all over the place but this is what the coop and the coilovers need, can see the rebound being very useful. also adjustment without having to take off the damper would be nice too
today i have raised the front 7mm each side, and put the front and back onto the softest settings. better traction but agree that the bounce is gonna be bad at higher speed. i have five positions to set my rear from soft (position 1) to hard (position 5), so i will now go to position 2 on the rear. i have tried position 3 and it was no good, too hard.
whittler i am suprised you have set it up with 0 camber, as the std coop suspension has about 30-40 seconds of negative as std? also found a snapped rear locking bolt on my alloys. bloody lucky i was working on it today, that could have been nasty!

Ok! Been talking with the deutch Bilstein guys and this is what they e-mailed me:

Quote:

Dear Mr. Nelson Tondela,

Thank you very much for your inquiry and your interest in our products.

Unfortunately we don't have B8 dampers for your car, only B6 Sport dampers. But with the
Correct springs you can lower the car (up to 30-40 mm) also with these B6 dampers.
The lowering depends mostly on the springs, not on the dampers.

If you need to know the contact adress of our representation for Portugal please let us know.

I'm seeing the light at the end of this tunnel

Cosmo, one more time, sorry about my stubbornness. Do you still have any billies and eibachs?

I'm going to consider the price difference between those and Fk coilovers and make a decision.

If you have them please tell me how much for they including shipping to Portugal.

Cheers

The sad thing is Nelson that you would rather believe a parts guy, sat behind a desk, who's probably never been in a car with Bilsteins on, let alone many on here who are driving this combination, on your car, day after day.

Unfortunately my courier wont ship to Portugal so I can't help you I'm afraid. Sorry.

Yes. I'm afraid that you're right Cosmo I should've listened to you but try to understand a guy that was sometimes fooled for believing without questioning

Anyway I totally agree with you when you say "a man behind the desk" but again... They should know what they're doing... and selling (but I know that unfortunely that's not always the case).

And thanks anyway for the quick answer regarding shipping I'm gonna try to source them by other means. If I buy them I will post my review as soon as I've made some kms.

Hope no harms done and I've not intendend to disregard your knowlege by any means Cosmo

Cheers
