To be fair the horse lost it's purpose when the cavalry moved to tanks, hauliers moved to trucks and farmers to tractors. The French/Germans still eat them, for some reason we don't.

So it's gratifying to see a use developed for our equine friends.

Taekwondo (however it is spelt) is the biggest bore fest I had the misfortune to watch. 3 rounds without a score and the ref had to penalise both competitors for not fighting.

Lots of silly prancing about and then some very ungainly kicks, I would think its future as an Olympic sport is in doubt. Even the judo was more exciting and that's saying something.

Dressage was great and the 800 final was superb. Also the women's boxing was amazing and a very well deserved gold.

Good one nobby. cool

I was really enjoying the handball then. Spain V Korea. Two lots of extra time and a score of 31 to 29 for Spain. Korea have a penalty awarded. Three seconds to go and the Beeb just switch to modern pentathlon without a please or thank you. crazy grr

Mo Farah, that was right up there with the greatest Olympic achievements by a British athlete.

And a massive middle finger to the Daily Mail and it's readership, that a Somalian refugee won two gold medals for Britain thumb

I like Mo, in one interview he said it was due to running 120km a week. He worked for it. He deserves his gold well done that man.

I think Boyle is looking good for gold here, although Gavin may have stolen the second round thanks to tactical use of the Elbow...

Russell Brand might be the walrus (insert own Ferris Bueller gag here), but I'm going to bed.

Well I thought they'd at least finish with a medley of Garry glitter tunes. laugh

On the whole it wasn't too bad. The set was amazing (it even smelled like a street)but there were some dodgy choices in there. Did you have to know him (Gavin)perhaps. Pet Shop Boys! George michael! Russel Brand! Liam Gallagher! poor to say the least!
