I have the standard clarion unit in the car with the CD changer, but if I turn round corners of accelerate or brake to quickly, the sound goes off on all speakers for a couple of seconds with a crackling sound thats on radio to, so it's a dodgy connection somewhere, if the problem is with the loom in the stereo, that's not too bad because I want to change it for an MP3 head unit anyway, but if the problem is further back past the iso connector, how much of a pain in the arse is it to re-wire through to all the speakers? Cheers Austin

Its not a hard job to do but time consuming due to access as you can imagine.
There are some good 'how to' guides on here regarding this subject.

A good thing to try is to fade the sound to specific speakers to test if it is all speakers or just the front / back / left / right ones.
I've had this problem and found out by trial and error it was the wiring to the rear speakers. A few quid for some speaker wire and a couple of hours of your time will sort this out. I did have to remove the passenger seat to feed the wire under the carpet though!

I had similar problems. Take out your head unit and make sure the aerial lead is pushed all the way into its socket, this was the cause of my problem & cured it. Good luck

Cheers for your responses, I think it may possibly be an earthing problem, on occasion when I open the drivers side electric window, I get a pop through the speakers, plus although it appears to be factory fitted, there is still power to the head unit with no keys in the ignition ?

A common Fiat Feature not having a switched live. Easy enough to change it though.
