Thanks. I'll be mapping a 20VT literally as soon as I've rebuilt the smoky turbo and inflated all the tyres on my new 20VT that's sat in the garage right now

You can, but 20VTs are in the lucky position of not really having to worry about aftermarket cams and cam timing - at least not until they're reaching pretty big power.

The nobbly sticks 16VTs are lumbered with peak around 5500 rpm so if you want to make significantly over 300 bhp then the cam timing needs adjusting. Or better still, fit decent fast road cams and adjust them to get a good balance of torque and power.
