Wow, really nice, job very well done thumb

Ive just done the exact same to mine in azzuro portofino, only I've polished my coil pack cover. What a transformation it makes to the aesthetics of the engine bay.

I very much like that! Has it been anodised or is it paint? Looks really good.

love love I've been toying with the idea of getting mine done like that but not sure what colour to go for, red? or yellow?.
I've not seen one done in yellow so don't know how it would look, but that red looks awesome, especially with the polished lettering.

Do you polish these before anodising? I assume it gives a bright finish if it is?

I did, I polished mine to 2500 grit all over as I was going to have that as a permanent finish, but it's to high maintenance to keep on top of all the time, it took me around 20 hours to fully polish it. But then went over it (painfully) with scotch brite to give the etch primer a good key, I dont think polishing is essential, as the primer does most of the work, but for a flawless finish I would recommend it at least to around 400 grit.

Also just to add mine isn't anodised, just etch primerd, 2k painted and VHT laquered.

It looks good enough for me, but if I could get anodised in Porto I deffonatley would, as Mario's looks amazing and I dare say it will be alot more durable.

Same colour as the one I removed from my car.
The powder coat colour is called candy apple red.

Mine was closer to wine red.

About time you anodised those stupid yellow calipers.

yes you have to polish the rocker and coil cover then mask up the lettering and spray it with a red lacquer then peel off the masking tape so the letters stay polished , here's a photo of mine done in blue anodized .

I may have to consider this for mine, but I've too much else to do beforehand. Ace presentations, though.

you can get a alloy polishing kit from halfords for around £15 that fits in a drill that works very well .
