Really struggling for insurance on this one.
Gf has been driving for 5 years, shes 24 and 2 years no claims.
I have been driving 8 years,27 and 3 points.

Best i can get currently is £1600.

Surely this is a crazy amount. I was expecting no more than £800-£900 but unsure if we can even afford it.

Which insurer's are on not on comparison websites?
Aviva was near £3000.

On a 147? shocked

Sounds outrageous.. maybe our insurers (Neil Willies or Adrian Flux) can help. Good luck!

Tim

thyere shooting up for some reason,i understand insurance claims in the last 12 months have rocketed but thats mad. They wanted 1600 for me to renew lol best going elsewhere and having 2 seperate policies (wih the same company to get discount) only problm there is you can only use your ncb on 1 car. My work out cheaper,it may not confused

Alittle bit of tweaking i have got 10months for £1204 with elephant.
We are currently with bell who want £350 to change to the alfa until sept. I would rather put that to a new policy in fairness.

Reub,

I would love to help, but as we don't do everyday car cover then I think I will struggle to get you anything competitive. Give me a call if you want me to try

Have you/gf considered looking at one of those policies that fit a little box to the car that relays data to the insurers, large savings can be obtained if you do this. More info at:-

http://www.ikubeinsurance.com/About-iKube/Get-a-quote-/

This is just one of the companies that offer the policy, but might be worth enquiring. Haven't used them myself, but know people that have, they cover main drivers under 25.

Regards
Sarah

Be careful with a shorter term policy as there will be NIL No Claims Bonus Earnt, so paying all that money and getting NO Bonus at the end of it.

Alfa male,i wish it was a gta. Its a jtd mjet. Phase 1 .

Thanks Sarah will look into these schemes, we have paid the premium to continue our exisiting insurance wich was £350 until Sept.

After this another years no claims should be gained and the gf over 25.

If anyone is interested we ended up with swift cover at £760 for the year. Beat everyone else hands down and a fairly painless process after searching mindlessly for insurance...
