I had a choice of watching car sos or counting cars last night . I have seen the work counting cars does on pawn stars as they use him to fix bikes or cars . So i thought counting cars would not be very good not a fan of american chopper bikes .I was pleasantly surprised the hour i watched last night . Its a good programme so far and i like the bullitt Mustang they put together .

I really enjoy watching Wheeler Dealers. I have the Velocity channel here in the USA and it has 24hr car shows. Fatal :-)
Okay so they usually make a huge loss on all the cars once you factor in any labour. For me the interesting part is watching Ed diagnose the problem, find the cheapest solution and fix the car.
I've seen a couple of episodes of Counting Cars and they do top work. However they do tend to completely ignore the customers budget and do whatever work they think is necessary to get the best result. I saw one episode where Danny bought another car and the staff were annoyed as they had to find room for it in the back with his collection of about 50 cars.
I've watched a little bit of West Coast Customs and they are amazing. Bespoke solutions and I dread to think how much some of those cars cost to modify.

I rather watch these 'small' nut and bolt programmes with the sometimes added setup drama and holes so big you can drive through several times over than the bafoon that is Top Gear shite.

Escort Mk1 on next, should be interesting, there will be loads of room in th engine bay compared to the plumbing and electrics a modern car now has. Loads of room? Not when you fit a ford Dutatec in there!
Gone Audi mad!

It was painful watching Ed replace the suspension hub and brake assembly and not the wishbones with the obviously ruined bushes. The boot on the track rod end was split too. The old Ed would have replaced the lot! Ah well Still the LSD replacement was very interesting!

^ Yes, I thought that too. It looked like there were a few new parts on the car which didn't get mentioned.

Did anyone watch the Cerbera edition? The bloke who sold it is a friend of a friend.
God knows how they made any money on it and once again they fluttered over the detailed information. One minute Ed China was saying he wants to take the body off the car and then he decides to take the engine out first. Next minute the engine is out - barely even showing what they had to remove.

As I've said so many times before....you take the likes of wheeler dealers & similar with a tiny bit of salt. They are what they are...tune in & hang on. Can't help smiling to myself when some take these shows a tad too seriously. For me, wheeler dealers is an easy to watch simple delve into the cars most would like to own, or at least drive. No silly swearing or stupid strops......easy to watch. Sure it's cheesey, if you don't do cheese don't watch...simple
I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time
