Meh just looking at Tribans and it looks like they are/have changed the spec - no more carbon forks...

They don't appear to be selling the Triban 3 (it's not in stock) frown shame as it's a great bike.

Coopless!

Only now do I realise what I bargain I got, the lowest spec board man has shimano 2300, no carbon forks and cost £599.00

I managed to get one a couple of months ago on fleabay for just over £220 which included decent saddle and clip on peddles.

If you're stuck I heard that Evans are doing a trade in of any old bike (even a childs one) for about £30 off.
With that in mind I like the look of this one.
Jamis Ventura
21 lb weight is 9.5 kg.
Double butted light 7005 Aluminium (not the usual 6061)
Carbon forks, 9 speed at the back, 50/34 compact crank.
The 11-28T cassette on the back will give a lovely set of ratios.
I don't know if that's the best deal but I think it is spot on for being the right specification.
The Mavic rims might be good too.

Yes they're changing all the specs around. I was in Decathlon earlier and the bike guy said he's got around 20 Triban 3s on order waiting to come in shocked Plus the new Triban 5 is a way off too, with waiting lists.

I've just purchased the old spec Triban 5 as it keeps the carbon forks, stays etc. Very nice bike love Doing London to Paris in July for charity so need something decent laugh

Just bought a hybrid bike to start riding to work. I am a beginner as such and looking forward to start riding. Work is about 4miles away so not far as such.
I have bought a claud butler urban 100 for £145 as a ex demo model,

Any advice guys?

Keep pedalling and remember you're considered an invisible target by the idiots out there.

*Seriously* consider hi-vis. It doesn't look cool but then, neither does lying on a stretcher.

+1 thumb
Hi vis jacket or fluorescent top, bright flashing back light, bright flashing helmet mounted front light.

You will be amazed by how many people pull out on you with the front light off.
With it on it is only white van drivers you need to watch out for (they wait for nobody).

How did you get on? Are you wearing overshoes for better aerodynamics?

Just a '58', however my first 25 mile TT this year in cool and blustery conditions.
Hope to see a few minutes improvements by September.
Yes aero but also mega-visible.
