I would not have believed such a small change could make such a huge difference...
Took the 20vt Quanturbo across to Joe's today for an MOT (damn, that's three MOTs in a month!) and a checkover. It sailed through the MOT, hasn't done enough miles to need a filter change (it spent some time off-road last year while a smoking issue was sorted out), and I happened to have a set of camber adjustment bolts.
So we marked the existing position, and cranked in the passenger wheel a silly amount at the top. That turned out to be - as expected - extremely unstable and sensitive to throttle position, so we wound it out again, to within half a millimetre of the original position of the hub carrier against the shocker. I calculate that at something under a degree of negative camber, relative to the original position...
And the thing has changed from something into which you didn't dare go past three thousand rpm in first or second into something which still has torque steer, but which is apparent now only if really ragging it two or three thousand rpm higher and is barely noticeable. Where before it would head for the ditch if you booted it - and then head for the other ditch when you changed gear because the steering was by then pointing in seriously the wrong direction - no it just squirms a bit and gets on with it.
The improvement in the driving and handling is sensational... thanks to Joe and Jake for their assistance with this one!
