I know there's an events forum, but it's very lightly trafficked and I think a gathering like this needs more pride of place. tongue The Coupe scene is well and truly alive internationally. smile

A whole bunch of Malaysian owners gathered outside the entrance of the F1 circuit at Sepang to commemorate the 20th anniversary. Was a great day!

Nice selection of wheels in the first picture! But what happened to the front of the blue coupe?

Snubbed by a trailing arm?

I count 26 coops, that's incredible as well as the organised layout. The pearly white stands out in particular smile

It's occluded by something in front of it - looks like a reflection in the back bumper of a coupe...

What a great selection of Coupes.

It would be great to see that many together in Australia, which would just about be the total number here.

Thanks for the love chaps. We had a great turnout because:

1) It's a 20th Anniversary meet, so even if you don't come for any other meets (and believe me, there are many who don't), you'd come for this one. We printed event t-shirts, Kelv organised a competition, and we had a raffle with oil filters given out as prizes etc. Wasn't just a typical weekend meet-up.

2) We had use of the F1 circuit main entrance for a photo shoot, and after that we went over to the paddock to join in the festivities there. The Renault dealer had a trackday for the local Meganes going on and we were invited along to eat and schmooze.

3) The vast majority of the Coupes in Malaysia are centered around the KL region, so most people don't have to travel very far. We did have a few come from out of town (100-200 miles), but the majority lives less than a half hour drive away from our rendezvous point. This is definitely not the situation in the UK! smile

I love sunroofs; mind you they can be pants if the relay has come loose and it starts to rain. A swift bash on the passenger side of the gearbox console usually works laugh

The majority of the Coupes on the road here were available in only one spec: Plus with sunroof. The only option was colour! Though I don't think there's a single Sprinty or Murple in the country.

Haha, I thought so too. I did tell them that booster seats and 'Broomstick actuated pedals' didn't look very cool in a coupe laugh

Great video thumb Looks like you had a great time. Nice to see all the individual variants.

Looks like a nice part of the world! I had a stop over in KL at Xmas on my way to and from Manila. (I did look out at the roads just in case !) Maybe next time I'll take a couple of days to see the actual country.

Hey guys, KL is like Glasgow, we have puddles.

LE 16 is looking good buddy , still keeping it in tip top condition, must say you have put some weight on, also slightly balding only slighty though, the grey dosen't help the matter right enough xx

The old boxer shorts trick gets it nice and shinney laugh

Thanks Ronster. I think it's the lack of Glaswegian air that makes my hair follicles lazy.

LE 16 isn't quite as shiny as it used to be though...quality of cottons found in boxers here just isn't up to scratch to good ol' Govan Cotton! laugh

laugh

Since he left Glasgow....

Did the Kelvster not tell you why he had to leave in such a hurry....myself, well I quite enjoyed his fondle x

It was the postman that had enough and reported him to the law and then they all came out, think in one way or another, we over here have all be touched by Kelv x

I recall Kelv's leaving do, when he tried to pay the bill and no one could change his mind, until Steamer started to strip, that took his mind off paying the bill.

P.S. Steamer is a bit of a stud right enough x

It's the chest hair I tell you. Anyone that catches a glimpse of his magical forest would have succumbed to it love. I wanted to pack him in a box, stick a fragile sticker on it, and ship him back with me. Alas, common sense got the better of me. I would have never been able to afford the hair conditioners needed to maintain those Tom Selleck lovelies frown

Nice to hear from you again Karl! You've been quiet. One long journey indeed. I hope you still have your coop? Any new green components? laugh
Seriously mate, if you brought your car here, your engine bay would have blown everybody's out of the water.
