He did but it went back to McLaren in what turned out to be the most expensive insurance rebuild ever claimed. The car was virtually entirely rebuilt.......

How stupid is this World? £910,000 to repair a car. Ridiculous!

Versus a couple of million to replace it... I wonder what his premiums are?

Agree its crazy money for a car but theres an F1 for sale on here which is rumoured to be up for between $5-$6 million dollars with only 300km on it (for some mad reason?!) so I can see why its worth resurrecting. Would have been a brokers dream!

Saw a Veyron parked up at the Classic Alfa trackday at Goodwood on Saturday. I was too busy driving my own car to take a close look.

I saw a Ford Escort Mk3 (facelifted) van this morning in commuter traffic at Dundee.
It looked immaculate.

I think the Escort owners' club was out and about down my way.

Popping to the shops I was stopped at a set of lights on a crossroad. First car to come across was an Escort Mk I (can't remember the last time I saw one of those on the road), followed by a Mk II, then a Mk 3, then a Mk II RS2000 and, finally, a Mk 4 cabrio.

Bit of a stroll down memory lane it were.

grey Enzo in a side street in St Albans last night - only seen red before this.

I pointed it out to my 9 year old son who was not bothered....

I think the driver saw me, as he gave it the beans after he passed us - sounded pretty good!

Everyone and his grandfather was out in the welsh borders yesterday; loads of classics from Moggies to Bentleys and everything in between, plus the usual Ferraris and Maseratis.

As a follow up to my day out at the cricket post one of the spectators today rocked up in a Sprint Blue (roughly) Reliant Robin van. It was utterly spotless and no, he didn't roll it wink

At Wilton House last Sunday, there were over 100 Astons, some of which were gorgeous and some reminded you why Aston used to be the "fastest lorry in Europe".
Biggest wows for me in amongst the hundreds of Ferraris, Lambos, Bugattis, etc, were the Special Project McLaren MP4 12C, the F1 and the Jaguar X75. But it was pretty hard to choose!

Slightly unusual rare-spot of a LHD Mk.1 Ford Cortina estate on Dutch plates heading soundbound going past Kenilworth on the A46 towards the M40. A shabby-chic cream colour with a faded Red roof?! Was going well though and certainly over the maximum permitted Queens highways limit!

One of those new McLarens went past me tonight, up the ar$e of white van man with stripes. The wavy rear spoiler huge central exhaust are quite impressive.

2 Veyrons yesterday! One is a bit of a cheat as I see it (metallic gold/beige colour) most days in a showroom on Park Lane, but there was a flat beige one on Bayswater Road approaching Marble Arch as I went home yesterday

But why are most Veyrons in such wishy-washy colours?
