So, work finally decide to give me a car to do my job. Which is nice.
In the good ol' days, we'd get a choice, but pay a contribution towards the car... which was always the preferred option as you could have Audis, VWs, Fords.. whatever within reason.
But now, due to the cuts, we are on a cheaper solution where you don't have a choice, the car is small and basic, but the car costs you less.
So, I'm fizzing about in my Pug 208 1.4HDi with all of 68bhp..
and yes it's slow. (My previous car was a 140bhp TDi Leon ... yes, DOUBLE the power.)
But somehow, it is kinda fun. The handling is great, the steering is sharp and you can carry lots of speed into corners. The drive is involving too, because you have to change gear a lot to keep the engine in the sweet spot.
So, maybe less IS more...... and then there's the fuel economy..... 58mpg on an engine with 150 miles on it aint bad.
