It was wet Jim, but a surfboard? That's Lego's lads up to everything possible to make it take off while their Dad's back's turned...

@ Jim - eye for the detail as ever! Did anyone get caught in the traffic hold-up before Cramond Brig or did you all turn off onto the M9? I was held up for an hour and 45 minutes thought at first it was an accident especially when a police car and ambulance came squeezing down the middle of the road but when we eventually got there only a fire engine was visible with several firemen and a length of hose - reckon it must have been severe flooding.

we managed to avoid it.....prob more by luck than judgement (though did then head along the M9 towards stirling by mistake which didn't help with trying to get to New Lanark).
At least the overnight application of a natural, organic, fully bio-degradeable product (otherwise known as rain) took off the worst of the mud picked up on the way into the field.
Coupe now tucked up in the garage ready for a wee outing to moffat.
We did the best part of 400 miles this weekend....having refilled the tank, we managed approaching 40 mpg......its the first car I've had that does significantly better than the official mileage claims...wish I could negotiate a discount on the car tax on this basis
look forward to seeing some of you in moffat

That's a really healthy mpg. Helped of course by it being a non-turbo and you being a sensible driver Yes that muddy entrance was a bit galling - I realised (on the way out) that in the morning if we had turned right about 100 yards further up the A92 we'd have arrived at the clean end natural, organic, fully bio-degradeable product I've usually not been so complimentary in my description...

Well the weather turned out better than forecast and we actually got some sunshine It was very nice to meet up with fellow Coupsters and their families, share stories, tricks and tips etc. I look forward to seeing you again at Moffat. The Venue this year was much better especially the extensive play area which kept my younger boy Michael(10) happy the whole time we were there. Lewis who is 15 now also thought it was a better venue. Pity it was too early in the year for fruit picking and the Maize Maze. Nice Cafe and food also. As for the actual Scottish Italian Car Show, which we all put in a good few miles to get to, no more so than Rich&Nic... Well it was a few Italian cars parked in as field and very little else. There was certainly no "show" going on. Many of the cars were modern and still in production and as I heard one woman say in the Cafe "I've see better cars in some car parks" I have to agree some bits did just look like a car park and the actual venue car park had a fair few more interesting cars in it than some "on show". No welcome, no entertainment, no autojumble, no info on the cars, no competitions, no stalls worth mentioning - apart from the guy making tables from engines - . I've been to four of these "Scottish Italian Car Shows" in the last three years and the actual "shows" have all been the same - boring. I'm a petrolhead and I find them boring. I would certainly not attend this show as a normal paying punter. I'm more than happy to meet up with fellow FCCUK members and just think we can do it at better Scottish shows or a better venue than this. So with that in mind I hope to attend with Simon, a Car show at Thirlestane Castle in the Borders this coming Sunday which is purported to be one the best Car shows in Scotland and looks on paper to be pretty big with lots of varied entertainment. I'm taking the family including Mrs Lego and all will report back on just how good it is with hopefully a view to attending as a Club in future. Borders Show Links page Some pics mostly taken by Michael.

yes, I've got to say, after I'd walked round once, I did think; "is that it...?!" or at least it seemed a bit flat as I really look forward to this day every year. My boy was devastated that Richard Crompton Italian Miniatures hadn't put in an appearance- and actually- so was I! There's always something to buy- but not this year. Indoor scones were great though! But it was great to see everyone although I should have made more of it at the time... (no shots of the red car...? )

[quote] Tend to agree....good to meet people, the play facilities at the venue worked well but ultimately it was little more than a number of cars parked up in a field. I did think that it was a bit cheeky to charge italian car owners for admission given that most shows let exhibitors in for free (because their cars are what everyone else is paying to see). BIt odd seeing a load of modern alfas parked up....could have brought ours, but hats off to AROC for organising something for us to come to. Look forward to seeing you at Moffat and to hearing how this weekend's show goes...if it works out, perhaps we could try and get a stand at it next year.

ooh...
much vanity being fed...
I feel better now- thanks everyone.
Mabey I should keep the spoiler just to revel in the infamy it feeds?
For years people will be like; "Jim who..?"
"you know, that guy with THE spoiler?!"
"oh yeah!!" You could wire in a socket near it and do the ironing Oh and seeing as not many seem to know the answer to your quiz Q's, maybe post it on General Chat

Hi guys it was good to meet u all and enjoyed seeing so many coupes in the flesh. Good tips as well. As a petrol head I enjoyed having a look around the other marks as well even the modern Alfas though more stalls and atmospher would have been good. Took RAR for a valet the following day after the drive up the dirt track. Steph
