If it's feather light, it's not a Helix organic! I love how heavy my one is. I've never had problems with it in traffic either. Great weight, great feel and very grippy. It's just a shame it can judder a little.

Titanium studs from Lotus F1 (I think), cfc heat shields from various F1 cars (there is another not shown yet) and the cover is from Cosworth V8 XD.
On the next car I build i`ll try to source V10 bits as I have discovered that the mil. spec. connectors don`t really cater for 5 or 10 cylinder engines!
Enjoy.

In truth you are looking at a Fiat engine with electronics from a Lola/Cosworth Indy car. However, the engines use similar parts in some ways - like CAM-cam phase sensor, CRANK-tdc sensor, TPS-throttle position sensor. I have to fully re-wire the part as I won`t be using the circular connectors Neil referred to, I don`t seem to get the data I need to implement them so I will use the Deutch type or compatible. I have all the data and supply I need on these and they have a d/r rating of 500.

As far as I can ascertain, aside from the battery terminals and the heavy duty wiring from battery to fuses etc., the highest current rating of any connectors on the car is 20 amps! Fuel pump and rad. fan connectors.
Please see my project thread for full info in coming weeks/month/years.

I would like to see the clutch debate flourish myself as it is not easy to change, gets used and abused constantly and seems worthy of some investment.

Now, can anyone give me any pre-load data for the front end suspension setup?

p.s. I have a 16 valve turbo engine in stock as it were, from a Lancia Thema or Thelma as she was known. I bought the other cover so i`m doing a 4 pot development.

A totally standard Coop (that is, sans side skirts, body coloured sills or lips and at standard ride height) looks rather dated. Still nice though!

The Coop needs lowering at the very least.

It *is* rather dated. It's twenty years old. It's *supposed* to look rather dated.

Dropped suspension? Meh...

Again, at this stage I have just started to go hmm, what might fit here? Next step - ABS delete.

A standard Coop looks more dated than a calendar.

A tastefully modded one is more timeless than a clock with no hands.

Well, I think there are a couple of sets of wheels and tyres up in your part of the country, I would like to drive up and nobble both sets. Not that I have checked the for sale section of late. I have no money whatsoever, but I suppose I could re-mortgage the house. laugh

Things are moving fast. I had the idea to S2 something way back when I read Guy Croft say that he would love to do development but until someone came forward to pay for it, it would not happen. Or words to that effect - please correct me any time I am wrong.

Then I saw the project thread of the French chap, who I must direct a comment or two to too, I love English. He has an electric power steering pump where I have mocked the blower. I plan to mount the blower with its back end facing the front of the car with an electric motor where the ABS unit lives. The whole thing could bolt to the chassis leg as there will be a lot more room when my wiring is done.
An arrangement of valves is required, this could be very easy or very hard to do - I haven`t decided which way as yet. Electronic control over blower pressure governed by engine speed - or off.
I may push this development hard, but I may decide not to bother, my motor has good boost from low revs as it is.

Another chap is doing a 4 wheel drive version, I must comment there also.

I can get ex F1 and Le Mans car brakes, uprights, drive shafts, electrics, dampers and all manner of hardware in fact. Prices may get cheaper too as my supplier has emailed me and may have responded well to the project. I will have to see the free stuff they are sending me this week.
I just bet titanium nuts and washers are metal recycled as this is the most cost effective way of seeing a return - well not any more as I offered to buy them all.

I know I said I would never post a link again. I am posting a link to you tube. The car at 45 seconds. I want my car to go like that, just look and sound better. Perhaps without the end of stage oil fire too.

Oops, I have to get up for work soon.

Well, for *work* I prefer Weller, but at home the Antex is handy.
