So it could be plug related then...

I'll take out the std BKUR6ETs and pop in the BKUR7ETs I have in the morning and see if it makes any difference.

Cheers h2ypy.

Any other "problem solved" hints/tips...?

James

The 7ets are the plugs you should run as soon as you start to mod. they arent so good for cold engines but they are the best for anything with a slight mod and upwards if you want the best for your engine without going sily price wise or to iridium plugs then worth fitting.

I have them for my LPG kit in summer as it apparently runs better on hotter plugs but ill be trying the 6ets over winter as they are better for colder engines as well.

In the past I have been in a Coupe that has run higher boost with the old plugs (6ETs), and especially in the morning or when cold (weather) the car would for a split second "stall" under acceleration, which was quite concerning as it felt almost catastrophic. Initially we turned the boost down and this "cured" the problem, but as soon as the boost was turned back up the sudden "stalling" on acceleration re-appeared. Next step was to change the plugs to a colder type "7ET", this immediately cured the problem, we put boost back upto 1.3/1.4 bar with no noticeable problems.

20 years later the theory still applies, more boost colder plugs, better get checking…… laugh wink
