Agree on the 4C. And seriously impressed with just how quick they are, I know they don't weigh much but still... proper car.

I was talking to one of the Brooklands guys in the briefing room and he said they are looking to put down a grass airstrip next year so light aircraft can use this and also taxi some of their collection including a hurricane smile didn't hear about the Wellington but that would be special.

Great day and Fiat Coupe attendance, enjoyed seeing so many familiar faces and chatting with new, our cars looked awesome and attracted many positive comments from other enthusiasts, one chap in particular who couldn't believe we were celebrating our 20th anniversary birthday smile

Thanks to Pete as always for his efforts, the flags looked excellent thumb

mark77's Crono LE looked simply stunning shocked love Cooperman's N/A Coupe which sounded awesome on the parade driving Jason's Electric blue Plus which needs to be kept in a vacuum sealed box as it's factory finish condition, generally a great effort by everyone I thought which made the day.

One thing for next year as an idea, a club table for coffee please as the Brookland cues were 30 minutes long.

Would be nice.

The only problem is Brooklands, if you remember they wouldn't let us have naked flames in case we were going to burn down Concorde so I can't think of another way to heat the water.

The café round the back of the stratospheric chamber was quick when Bob and I went there before the track briefing.

What about a couple of these pump action flasks, no need for any naked flames.

When we arrive we can congregate and chat as it's always first mission to seek relief, and then coffee.

Me and the GF really enjoyed it, we went at last minute but glad we did. Nice to meet a few of you guys.

I have a few pics of the Coupe's on the track:

Brooklands Test Track

Anyone got a pic of all the Coupes under the Concorde, I forget to take any of my car with the others!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Coupe line up and many thanks to all the members who kindly gave advice and suggestions as to how to complete the cambelt change on my 2.0L 20v. I'm getting there and hope to get the job done in next few days. Hopefully will be able to join the next gathering.

Here's a picture of Pondman's LE, Sue's and mine.

Three Vinci LE's and Concord

More can be found on my FB page and also a 4k video of the Coupe parade lap with Phil Ward driving the 458S pace car.

I discovered that you could get onto a balcony up in Mercedes World laugh laugh , there are two, one is limited access but the other was open hence I had a panoramic view of the parade. I have a video of the Coupes' lap; must work out the best way to post this up...

Finally got some time to upload the parade lap video, I was thankful for the opportunity but it was a shame we didn't get more laps.
I think my parting comment on the video was likely down to all the queuing and briefing palaver over what in the end was a very genteel drive around the track smile

Here are a couple of Brooklands' own videos from youtube.

In the first one there are some coupes arriving at around 30secs and 1minute 50 seconds.
You may recognise one or two faces in the (boring) briefing in the second.

Surprise, surprise they concentrate on the usual expensive or ancient cars, but then the Brooklands Museum organisation is very stuck in the privileged past. Some coupes shown as the aero-engine cars go to the circuit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wACo5Ye8Ymo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws6vjSeomho

Phil Ward apologised to me afterwards for not being able to look at our cars, he got stuck with some admin issues. He is happy to judge them at Stanford Hall on June 28th.

Hah! I'm just about visible in the stationary right-hand column at 4.05, two behind the 308, in the first video.
