Think it's had 2 owners since then, the first of whom I know and AFAIK was passed on in the same immaculate condition.

Why is it often sold on so quickly.....

I have considered breaking my own car while I TRY to restore it as its already in bits and buy this but the repeat selling up makes me ask questions......

It certainly is a lovely car - a credit to the work Duffy did.

Originally 8k reduced to 7k with over 100K on the clock might be on the high side given the fact it hasn't sold.....and that's assuming everything is in order (no hidden surprises). I actually messaged you through ebay the first time it was for sale and you never messaged me back as promised. Nevermind, Im on the prowl for an LE and will just wait for the right one to come along, just hope its not too long lol.

Im sure this car will make someone a very proud owner but from what Ive seen so far is that 100k milers in pristine condition just aren't selling at that asking price. Not sure what the best price guide is other than a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

I drove this car when it belonged to Duncan 78 (pre Duffy) and know the work he and his predecessor (Hedge) did, it may be worth PMing them for another view.

The amount of money, time and effort that has been spent on this car is pretty astonishing and that was before the "Duffy project" If I could have bought a keeper Coupe it would have been this car without a shadow of doubt, drives like a new car and sure very little on it has done close to 100K miles.

I have no vested interest here just wanted to say that in the current market it is well worth the 7K IMHO. Good luck selling it.

I agree, the prior owners of this car were all good owners. Last time I saw hedge he had a ariel Atom

True Phil but that depends how the car has been treated and maintained since those previously mentioned owners. How long has Tom (fiatcoupemad) owned the car and what is the reason for sale?

Probably thermostat gone bad .....

I believe Tom has a LE and 3.0 Alfa GTV too so thats a lot of metal/petrol/tax/insurance to keep running.

I think after buying it from the chap that bought it from Duffy that it needed a replacment 6 speed gearbox.

Mmmmm I heard that too when making my enquires, hence the reason I didnt persue it. I would be very surprised however if a forum member and enthusiast would sell a car knowing the car had such a fault/problem, especially when describing it as "better than when she come out of the factory".

It's the one thing I dislike about this forum, the way members cars (and non members) and adverts are speculated on and usually "devalued".

Go view the car. Get the low down from the owner. Then maybe it's reasonable to give an opinion on the car.

I am in no way devaluing it just suggesting why it might be for sale and stating some history about it possibly having/needing a gearbox.

I have considered buying it with several of its different owners.

A good example will sell itself, just takes a genuine potential buy to view and test drive.

Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo LE

That's got some rust issues and a less than great paint job by the looks of it.

If it sells at a reasonable price the issues are no issue at all? Great project for someone. Hope it gets saved and gets some attention.

The only time these things end up as issues is when numpties bid on a car they have never seen, never contacted the seller about and then moan when it's not the gem that will make them a fortune after all

Nothing is an issue if you have the budget for it.
I think it will make decent money and hopefully not be too bad on the rust repairs.

I'll keep an eye on it as my Boxster is up for sale and I need another project to keep me out of trouble.

For the record, I messaged Tom about the silver plus and had a reply, assuring me that the car is a minter. No injector or gearbox problems and a viewing/test drive would prove this.

Like was said above and many times before, rumours can ruin the potential sale of what is otherwise a fantastic buy.

I'm now in the process of doing a deal on an LE so not looking for a plus anymore but good luck with the sale Tom. That said, she does look a keeper or a very good buy for someone looking for something to enjoy rather than a project with a bigger budget.

Cant believe nobody looking for a plus has actually bought this yet, nevermind been to view it. A lovely car for anyone with a bigger budget wanting a car needing nothing.
