Looks a nice car, but it seems a bit of a strange list of things to do if it's only got 30K on the clocks? Can it really need the seats redoing?

The thing is as a lot of people obviously don't appreciate. The car has never had anything replaced, repaired or refurbed in 17 years. Mileage is irrelevant when rubbers, plastics and leather have never been cared for and age itself takes it toll. My wish is to have what is as close to a brand new car as possible when I'm done, even though most items don't actually need replacing and many would say I'm replacing for the sake of it and wasting money. The thing is, this coupe is my long term pride and joy and I want the benefit of new parts as opposed to replacing on failure

I do appreciate the fact. Kind of raises more questions, kind of confusing.

Clintos this is amazing

Can you say what the part number for the horns is? I didn't know they were still available: are they genuine FIAT items..?

What saddle wax treatment did you use, also..?

Can only advise against using saddle wax as it sets like lard in the cold weather, different story if the leather is warm, which is what I should have done instead of applying it at 7am (Joe can confirm that....lol)

The best persons to ask about leather treatment are patch234 and Mark77 as patch has restored dozens of coupes and Mark is a professional detailer.

The horns are genuine fiat horns and the part number and price for the 2 horns including bracket is :

0046467570 cost £97.16 + VAT

All other photos with respect to the major works being carried out by FCSS can be found here..........

With respect to the exhaust Phil, the tip had fallen off the original back box and it was a case of any old tip will do to prevent the bumper from melting. The previous keeper wanted to replace with OEM exhaust but couldn't find one and had FCSS on the case until I bought it.

Echoes...

terrific info. in the horns...

...and so much better than those dreadful red topped things some coupe owners seem to favour, be painting the grille red next!

Fabulous car also, once Joe has finished, best LE.
Alas, people make paint joke but they probably drive that jizz coloured Vauxhall.

I have a set but they looked wrong to me so i`m still going with `Salmon Look`.
However as I got into electro cleanse/plate I did some reading and recall being able to anodize plastic after pre-treatment, then there are a range of dye options. I`ll post when I have news.

I have now seen the other photo`s of those and you have done a nice job. Have a look at the blue ones though in F.C.S.S Brooklands photo`s. Plastics have a soft highlight.
Here is original LE pattern, think you have Brembo Sportline, although the hole pattern seems to vary between cars.
If you look at the row of 7 closely, the job looks almost done by hand.

Joe done well to source the others, I so nearly bought off that ziggy2ass ebay clown because I don`t read listings!

As I was unable to source new replacement LE pillar badges and the original ones had broken silver swooshes and had been badly hand painted, I managed to obtain the regular silver badges and transformed them to LE ones, which are now with Joe along with the wheel centre caps for fitting.

What can I say apart from its been a very expensive and a lengthy project, but Joe Knight at FCSS has certainly proved to me that he is my only choice for maintaining my coupe.

Coupe was MOT'd yesterday, is planned to be re-mapped next week with any finishing touches carried out before collection on 22nd December

Credits (not all):
Joe Knight (FCSS) - complete stripdown and rebuild
Chris (Universal-Turbos) - turbo upgrade
Paul (Screentech) - Interior restoration
AK SEHRA - windows out respray
Leighton (FC Performance) - Live remap
Demon tweaks - OE front discs

View photos here but more will be added upon full completion and collection............. thumb

Clintos, I saw your car at FCSS last week. It's amazing. My words to Joe were "Flipping heck, it looks brand new". And with a smile, Joe said "Good, that's what we're going for"

It really is a special car, hope you have a fab time with it

Just been hearing a bit about this Clint, especially as I couldn't a hold of Joe as he was revelling in the ride back from Leighton's cool

Sounds like a first-class restore job with a sweet engine that should last you yonks..

Unless you take it to the supermarket/leave it in the street/have an argument with a truck/get it nicked ....

Don't want coupe paranoia setting in though laugh

Mine's at Flea's next!!

Thanks Simon, looking forward to Thursday that's for sure and the drive home. Didn't even bring my head unit front so can't listen to any tunes driving home....oh well, will have to make my own music biglaugh

Good luck at FC Performance and hope you're pushing big numbers too!

PS no supermarkets and no street parking for me luckily as I have a driveway and a daily user, this is my summer toy thumb

That just shows you how restricted the standard cars are and the improvements possible. Great work Clintos - guessing thats a keeper.....

Thanks Neil and without a doubt to both points mentioned above. I didn't spend this long looking for a crono grey and then throwing more than 25K at a car for someone else to enjoy. A, I would never recover what it owes me and B, whats the chances of getting the opportunity to own one in this condition and mileage ever again.............slim!

BTW, you should just keep yours too! wink
