Thanks all cool

I'll be hopefully picking it up on the 21st July smile Booked my train ticket this morning, as well as my Mum to take me to the train station laugh

I popped to the garage earlier in the week and have booked it in for August where some stuff will be taken off it ready for some bits off my current Coupe to go on it.

I have a night off work the day I go and pick it up, so I'm sure I'll find some vino rosso to celebrate the new Coupe and commiserate the end of my current Coupe smile

Hopefully, it won't look any or much different to the one I have now by the time I see you again, just not as rotten underneath and less laquer peel laugh

Well, a week today and I pick up my 'new' Coupe laugh

I have more paranoia and feel more scared having to catch all the trains I need in time than I do driving the Coupe back laugh

I had a (my daughters) Ford Ka that's been sitting on my drive for a year taken away for scrap today to make room for my current Coupe to sit, to be used for spares and continue rotting away.
Later on, I'll be cutting the hedge back and all the stuff that's grown over the Ka back, to make a bit more room for my current Coupe, as I'm not sure how well two Coupes will fit on my drive, or if they'll fit shocked

The 'new' Coupe and current Coupe are booked into the garage the first week of August to have the bodykit, bonnet cat back exhaust swapped over - all big, pain the arse items I can't really do myself.

As things are getting closer though, I find myself thinking about whether I should just keep the 'new' Coupe standard ish and sell off the bodykit, etc.
I love the look of my current Coupe, but am beginning to have doubts as to whether it's worth all the hassle of swapping things and to just keep the 'new' Coupe as it is.

I'll have just over a week of driving the 'new' Coupe as it is before taking it to the garage and laying my current Coupe to rest.

So, standard ish or basically make another copy of my current Coupe? laugh

Standard-ish - for now. Keep the good bits from your current Coupe for fitting later.
Instead, get your new Coupe down to a specialist and get the underside inspected, repaired and rust proofed to give it another 20 years on the road.
Driving back home in a new purchase is sooo exciting.
Chuffed for you laugh

Keep it standard T. You attend a lot of shows, you represent the club ..... value does not matter I know as you won't be selling. However, standard original coupes hold value far better these days. Standard suspension is oh so comfortable too smile

Whatever you decide, what makes you happy matters the most.....

Well done, I have been through this too. Funnily enough I havn't done many miles in the new one, it sits in the garage and we use my work van.
Having said that it is in the garage as I type having a new radiator new oil and filter, a new exhaust manifold gasket with a few new studs which were broken. Also I have found out that my Toyo's on the front are completely shagged on the inside due to the tracking being miles out (It was driving fine?!!) They had only done about three thousand miles which is a bit of a blow.
Then it will be remedial rust treatments all round. I want it to last now.

Yes, I have someone to thank for this and who knows me well enough to just go out and force a Coupe on me laugh

My Coupe knew I had to go out early this morning and time was limited and decided to play tricks on me.

I usually put some RainX stuff on my windscreen when traveling outside the local area, so put some on quickly last night in between jobs and as I lowered the wiper arm on the drivers side, the spring under the arm snapped and came flying off ffs.

Just as well there wasn't a car parked at the side of me as it could have damaged it/smashed a window, etc.

Had to make a mad dash home before starting my other job to grab a coupe of spare arms.
Managed to fix it on the works car park about 9pm last night rolleyes laugh

Yeah, me too smile Don't really want any other car to be honest.
The Coupe has everything I want/ need in a car and the thought of having to look around for some sort of alternative was doing my head in.
The Coupe isn't perfect, but it is for me smile
