Talking of last minute things, the key fob battery in Paul's key has died, and the fob doesn't look to good either, sort of collapsed in the middle.
I just woke in the middle of the night "what if the battery in my keys runs out as well?" I have ordered new Panasonic CR1220 3v off eBay, but living up here not sure they will arrive before we leave on Monday. Have had a friend look in the Tesco's on Mainland Orkney, they don't have them. Though there are a lcouple of other electrical type shops we can look in on Monday afternoon.
So, questions, should I bring the red key, though that has been in a safe box ever since I bought the car new? Do you know where I can buy them in the High Street? Will be in Inverness for a couple of days before joining you? Or do you carry spares along with your spanners ?
Finally, if my battery goes and I don't have a replacement, does it operate the immobiliser, or can I just unlock and lock with the key and not the button press.
My car is still on Mainland as it wasn't worth paying for her on the ferry only to take her out again a few days later
Should have thought about this before, when you store them for the winter months, I will keep spares from now on,
See you soon
Dianne

Plans are going to have to change regarding my navigator Lewis (now 16). He hopes to study medicine and has just been notified that someone dropped out and that he has got a place on the oversubscribed and sought after 5 day work experience course next week with Medic Insight, shadowing doctors in Hospital. So he won't be able to come with me on the Thursday. Now he could come along with Michael and Mrs Lego on the Friday night (night before we meet up at Glenfinnan) but there is not any room for at my brother's house for him as he already has guests but managed to squeeze-in Mrs Lego and Michael . So my dilemma is; do I bring Michael(13) in place of Lewis on Thursday thus solving the accomodation problem on the Friday night, but also meaning he will be the only kid among adults. Or do I risk leaving the newly adulted Lewis at home for 2 nights on his own, which will no doubt be a irritating worry (in a yellow pages advert - have the house redecorated kinda way) for Mrs Lego and myself while we are abroad with you lot Advice please!

Yep no harm in having another number to call thanks Barney... what the typical sort of cost for recharge/ Sorry Brian, I've no idea - it was 2011 when I last called him! He's a very friendly guy though, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to field the question by phone.

Take a tent for Lewis and Michael for out in your brothers Garden? if they like camping out?
Have you seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off?.... Well you don't have to worry about the coupe as it will be safe because its with you.
Unfortunately my brother hasn't made a garden yet. It's all rock, stone and lumpy heather hillside. As you will see in the pics in the link http://www.homesandinteriorsscotland.com/2015/04/the-key-to-the-loch/

The difficulty is that they are travelling by train Simon, and arriving at after 11pm and there is nothing close to my Bro's house. Any that may be available will be too far away from the station and from his house . It's fine I am perfectly happy bringing Michael with me as it will be more enjoyable with him as "co-pilot" in the car and seeing as I already have booked twin rooms in Plockton and Pool-ewe. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi folks!
Looking forward to catching up with you all on Saturday at the Glenfinnan.
Although like Lego I may be down to the wire with my baby too. Silver_fox has been in the garage for nearly 4 weeks for rust TLC...hopefully picking up Tuesday...fingers crossed.
Any idea what time you all plan arriving at Glenfinnan?

I'm hoping the Weather picks-up again as I've just booked a couple of nights camping in Ardnamurchan for us at the end of the trip.

I use a CR2032 in mine... but even if the battery dies just use the key for the time being Oh, that's good to know, thank you very much Dianne, sorry - ignore this, CR2032 is the wrong size. Jim's got the relevant one

Aye Jim, there's lots of places/things to see. totally off the top of my head, a couple of years ago I bought this amazing loaf of bread in a shop on Skye, turns out it made by...... Manuelas wee bakery in Ardelve. Never been there, but what a lovely unusual place to visit. Look it up... You really have to try the bread....
I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

Ardnamurchan- I wish I'd thought of that!
Yes, team, it's not long now- 'this time next week' and all that...
Just got a couple of final details to sort on the car. Must reconnect that boot light at some point, also... Yep Jim definitely one of our favourites we where going to opt for going back to Arisaig after we leave Glenfinnan but I suppose Arisaig, Morar and Camusdarach are already part of the trip anyway.
