Heading across to Scrabster at 11 today, Inverness lunchtime. So no internet until this evening. Sunshine really shows up the damn vandals key damage on the sides, very sad.
However, will really enjoy the drive down. Vroom vroom Sorry Dianne, I'm a bit slow on the take up. Day early & all that. Have a blast & watch out for all the sbonk that only seem to out & about when I'm driving.....

Called Plockton Inn. Barman took the call but was struggling to find our details in the book and had customers waiting. He's asked for me to call back tomorrow morning at 09:30 and gave the impression booking tables would be wise. Mark can you PM me your surname please as I'm fairly sure that will help clear things up.

Safe journey Dianne - oh you've already left!
At least you have sunshine - it's pretty dreich here atm.
Aiming to pick you up at 1245 Thursday at Raigmore Motel, having fuelled up! Yes, had a brilliant drive, took a route right down middle to Lairg. Great bendy road, up and down, fantastic views, will tell you route when we meet up at 12.45

Hope it all went okay today, Dianne?
By all accounts you left in blazing sunshine..
The A9 North of Inverness becomes sensational. Yes, sunshine all way, until we got to Inverness

Forecast looking somewhat better for west coast over the next few days Couldn't be worse than down here! Watch those speed traps Dianne, they're out in force according to jimboy raking in punters racing round the 500 route...

I could've coped better with the crap weather we are likely to get if we hadn't had such fantastic weather for the last month or more. But after such a great spell it is decidedly turd the forecast, apart from Saturday when we may see a bit o' sunshine. I was going to leave tomorrow (wed) evening but may just leave on Thursday if the weather is as bad tomorrow afternoon as it was today here.

Watch those speed traps Dianne, they're out in force according to jimboy raking in punters racing round the 500 route... We did see one speed camera vehicle, but luckily we had just caught up with a car that didn't know how to get past some cyclists, otherwise I think we would have got caught as it was well hidden. So from talking about the driver in front in a rather "negative way" we had to say we were glad we met him when we did.!!! Raining in Inverness. it was so lovely when we left Orkney, obviously the sunshine capital of the north.

Glad you managed to avoid the cameras Dianne. The weather here couldn't be any worse at the moment, teaming down... Lets hope the West can smile on us.

Speed cameras. Ugghhh! Looking good Jim! Like the full tank. Called Plockton, they already had a table booked for us - for 13 people. Unfortunately Mr & Mrs Rosso have been consigned to the back room with 2 Fidos. Spoke to a very helpful chap who explained the back room is more relaxed and has a local feel to it but otherwise not much to differentiate from the restaurant. Have therefore booked for 11 people to dine together, in the back room at 7pm. It's a little presumptuous of me to to that so if anyone would prefer the restaurant please contact Plockton Inn soonest possible. Just been advised they are more or less fully booked every evening so it's not a good idea to wing it.

Yes, looks like it to me, have you got a widget DG to report volts? Or an old-fashioned hand-held voltmeter?

Edinburgh to House of Bruar in 123 seconds https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzvqQMLZC0ddWHh3MUhLTklmQVUI've had a few performance mods done- so this is in real-time... Alternator- yeah I noticed that a couple of days ago- got my Fluke meter in the boot + full electrical toolkit (no spare alternator though!) Battery is 15 months new and has been starting inbetween 10 day rest ups no problemo. It showed a better figure at cruising speeds. For what it's worth. 192 miles on a quarter of a tank!?? And we are now in Inverness... Whilst we are about it then- any part no. quotes for the VIS (with A/C) alternator?? Lest is should be used on the current Ford Focus AND so be readily available in Inverness!!

I've had a few performance mods done- so this is in real-time... Was that Marko overtaking you 7 seconds in??? Like the sticker Jim. @Jimboy, yes I had a similar sinking feeling when I contacted PlocktInn and they said we had no booking. For Thursday. Doh!!! I've been chucking stuff in the boot that I promised back on page 29, plus a Barnacle Widget. Just got the sat nav to sort out and need to pack some clothes. Not bothering with folding chairs - just an umbrella! BBC forecast is usually accurate and suggests we'll mostly get dark clouds and rain. @ Mark - What's the final word on your departure?

I think it will be less wet but cloudy as we go west. We should get glimpses of sun on Saturday hopefully, according the BBC app last night.. I've departed Bern and I'm overnighting in Pitlochry tonight. Nice run up on the back roads avoiding the A9 most of the way.

My broadband has been down for most of the evening, so I can't sleep. Spent a lot of the day yesterday cleaning & polishing my Coop. Cannot believe this has been on the go for 9 months. It's after 3am & I'm staring at my list, you need a list, well I do. As Simon says hope everyone that have already been on the go are having a blast... See you all soon......Jim.... Watch out for them pesky feds...
